My Experiment.....

Freedom Arms 454's are made that way. I've also heard they recommend only loading 4 rounds.

I own a FA 83, 454 Casull. It is in fact a 5 shot and I only load 5 when I am at the range. The trigger is so sweet on this gun that I wouldn't dream of letting them modify it to a transfer bar system.

OTOH, my Ruger BH convertible is 6 shots with transfer bar and I like it like that. Pretty nice to carry 6 up with confidence. It still has a nice trigger on it too.

The FA 97 series has a transfer bar and still manages to rock a very nice trigger.

The trigger on my Ruger NewVaq (2005 vintage) has been tuned by me - basic spring kit, mild internal polishing (NOT on the sear surfaces!) and a lot of shooting it has given me a trigger that would be hard to match by any gunsmith on any gun, at least SA. I'm still rockin' the transfer bar safety and six-up carry...
