my cousin is an asian bubba

If I hadn't noticed the OP's post count I'd pull his "punk card" and call BS.

I love how you guys seem to think that your post count has any bearing on you knowledge of guns, or your honesty. Having a lot of posts does not make you an expert. Well maybe on the internet. Unreal.

You folks talk like there's something wrong with a customized Colt. Personally, I think he should also BubbaPort it -- drill a couple of holes in the barrel near the (new) crown.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with a professionally customized Colt. An amateur hack job, on the other hand, is another matter entirely. I'm wondering now if he cut it short enough to run into issues with the extractor rod. The image of an Anaconda with a barrel so short that the extractor rod sticks out past it is kind of funny and nausiating all at the same time.

Well DAN, I never said I believed him, and I can't prove him wrong. So why call BS?
I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt here, as in: he's not the typical troll. Do I think he's full of it, YEP. But, I can't prove it.

No, but it does give the other members a reference on which to base the believability of a statement. Veteran members who are well known to the community may be able to make claims that would not be believed on post 1.

I don't understand what's wrong with it. He wanted a shorter barrel and made one. As long had he cut it straight, recrowned and finished it right.....even if it is a Colt, big deal. As long as he's happy with it, why do you care?

Personally, I've always found it fun to ruffle some feathers with the "purists". When I used to do a bit of drag racing I always had the dream of getting something like a 65 Mustang, or maybe a GTO, and putting a 4-cylinder turbo engine in it from a Mitsubishi Eclipse. Just the mention of it made people violent!:D:)

There are 2 sides of the issue.
I think of a gun like that and somebody hacking it and I think "Why in the friggin world...", then I think "What the heck? It's his gun, he can do what he wants."

Why not? It would probably be faster, have better fuel efficiency, and be more reliable too!

Just make sure it is not an all original clean car or else you are going to need a kick in the head.

My cousin bought a Colt Gold Cup and started tinkering with it. He put and extended mag release, slide release, and new front sight. The front sight flies off occasionally and smacks him in the forehead. I told him he should have bought a stock Springfield Armory if he was going to tinker and leave the damn Gold Cup alone! I guess he is a bubba too!

Oh boy, NOTHING makes an old rednecks head smoke like the sound of "angry bumblebees" under the hood of American Muscle!

Why did Rednecks get brought into all this bubba talk. You guys are starting to step on toes. :D

Now, wheres my hacksaw, duct tape and hose clamps.......
