My choice to carry a revolver CONFIRMED in a big way...

No you didn't and I don't know why you thought I was talking directly to or at you in this thread.

You just jumped in and got all offended.

Have a Snickers.

If so my mistake, i thought the post bellow was directed me especially as you quoted my post in it. :)

Only a fool with a suicidal death wish leaves his house with fewer than 5 concealed firearms and 100 or more rounds of ammunition for each of them.

"At the core of his desperate firefight was a murderous attacker who simply would not go down, even though he was shot 14 times with .45-cal. ammunition — six of those hits in supposedly fatal locations. in the heart, right lung, left lung, liver, diaphragm, and right kidney"

All that shows is that a handgun, ANY handgun, is a pretty poor tool for stopping a determined or pharmaceutically enhanced attacker.

The obvious answer in a situation like that is a bazooka.

Then again, they're only single shot.

Well imo keeping a gun clean and doing a inspection of the weapon after every use is key to keeping it in proper working condition. I believe a revolver is more reliable then semi autos.

I believe this because, in the military we used a 9mm Beretta. Those guns were kept clean and maintained to a high degree. Still when it was qual week. We would have some type of problem with them but I would still go to a combat zone with it over a revolver because of the ammo capacity.

My GP100 has fired a few thousand rounds through it and never had it misfire. I pull the trigger, it goes bang. By this time if this was a semi auto I feel some type of misfeed or mis fire would have happened by now.

They both have pros and cons. In war Im taking a semi auto. Walking around as a ccw, I'm carrying my wheel gun.

I just dont believe a person would want me dead so bad I need 30rounds to go to the gas station. So 12 .357mag rounds feels sufficient to me. Walking the streets of Ramadi, I wouldnt feel the same way.

Or as I like to say, for the vast majority of gun owners what you carry is more of a fashion statement than self protection.

Must be why there are so many threads started as to "which grips look the best on my model 442?", eh? Or those "Do you prefer black, blued, stainless or a bi-tone finish on your CWC gun?" threads. How 'bout those countless headless selfie pics of folks with their EDC in a fancy holster on their waist......... "Do I look cool or what?"

Carry what you are proficient with, are confident with and is most reliable for you. Let others do the same without chastising them. It's their life, not yours.

No, and I see the confusion, and apologize for it. I was keying on the sentiment, not the specific post or poster.
