Red dots suck for squirrel hunting, been there done that. Only possible worse choice is the stupid 3/4" tube el cheapos.

I'll have to respectfully disagree with you there.

my el cheapo red dot paired with a mall ninja'd up 10/22 has claimed more than it's fair share of squirrels. the red dot offers a great improvement over irons any day.

A scope on a lever... whatever floats your boat. Marlin 25 w/4x will do any treerat out to 75 yds (head shot) and is relativly cheap. why corrupt the lines of a beautiful rifle?!!!
