Thanks Everyone!

The compliments mean a lot, I had a friend come over and help me set up the professional photos!! :D

what do you think of that Vortex?

It is THE BEST SCOPE for the price range, clear glass, impressive eye relief, low profile, reset-to-zero turrets, awesome magnification and no blurriness. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. Mine is the Crossfire II 3-9x40 with the V-Plex reticle. $140 on optics planet. Excellent scope at an excellent price.

ALSO I LOVE THE LIFETIME UNLIMITED WARRANTY!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Are You using the original Safety ? It looks like it. Must be a pain to have to open the bolt to use it. You can get an aftermarket Safety that will work great. I have an 8x57 myself its a very good hunting Cartridge. Your Rifle is very nice.

Re: TX Hunter

Are You using the original safety?

No, I actually have the aftermarket pivot safety, it came on it when I bought it. Is is the MARK II safety.

Thanks! Yeah it's a great looking rifle, and it shoots as well as it looks.

oops

Upon closer inspection now I can tell the safety is aftermarket. I handload for my 8mm mauser. I convert 30 06 cases, (cheaper that way) I us an RCBS trim die. The only component that I use for this Cartridge that is different than what I use for my 30 06 is the .323 bullets I order. The us factory ammo is weak and expensive, the 8 x 57 is a handloaders jewel.

I will when I get on my big computer with my files. Mine is not that special, just a Yugo 24 47 with a bent down bolt handle and a taller front sight in original trim. I love it though it has a good crown and really nice bore.

I love Mausers too, the VZ 24 is known for excelent quality and super accuracy. Love the stock on Yours its really nice.

Thanks!

Accurate, smooth action, fun! Thanks for the complement!!! It is my main hunting rifle for now, I am planning on getting a 30-06 soon for my main hunting rifle, but I think the Mauser will stay in that position. The Vortex scope is impressive in quality, and the stock is made by interarms and the barrel is free floated, it is the perfect hunting rifle, considering it can take anything on this continent!!

My Mauser, I love it:) This is an older picture of it, since taken the front sight has been changed out, the hoods gone, and I got a propper keeper for the sling.

thanks, no I am just going to leave it like it is, just dont have the heart to tap it. but If I ever run across a nice sporter thats already done I will buy it.
this one sits in the Gun Cabnet right beside a Remington 1903 A3, and A Finnish M39. I love the older millitary Rifles.:) I do however use this Rifle when Im Hog Hunting. Its a good Rifle.

Military Style Rifles

Yeah! Military style rifles simply cannot be beat, being that they were designed for the military! Those are some nice rifles you are talking about. I have my Mauser, then a Mosin Nagant that I wish to sporterize with the new Archangel stock that came out. I love military style guns!!

mauser8mm

Nice looking rifle, I have only taken two with my 8mm, but they barely moved from the spot of impact (maybe 5' to 10'). I'm sold on the 8mm, it's my designated Elk & Bear (black) gun.
I'll use the 7mm mauser for deer & antelope, just cuz it's a lighter gun to carry around. But if I could only have one it would be the 8mm.

I am trying to find an aftermarket stock for my Yugo M48. Where did you get it? How did you mount your scope? Did you have to bend your bolt more? Can you send me some specifics? I would GREATLY appreciate it. Would you PM me?

David
