''Mr Large'' ....... comes home!!

Quartus -- quite right ... it doesn't need ''fought'' ... just firm is enough. Immensely enjoyable gun to shoot.

Bill .... Haha! Billet .... yeah, you ain't the first to use that word on it! :) Well ... my bones are aging too ya know ... near 60! But they manage ... much is down to technique, tho I would admit it ain't quite an ''all day'' gun ... not to mention the time taken loading for it!

Yeah ... R/C .... a passion of mine. Glad to find you enjoy also. If mods will permit a small excursion from topic (grovel!) ..... here are a pic or three (haven't got pics of a few smaller ones on hand - they are just some .46 size fun planes)....

This first is a last year's plane ... Ultra Sport 60 .. but with a .75 motor ... climbs on the prop! Very versatile and will pretty much ''fly the book''. probably my most exciting plane actually.

Then, the Ryan STA ...... this is the big one .. got it together this winter. It has Seito 120 under the hood .. beaut to fly and very graceful ....... reasonable performer but only for ''lazy'' acro really. Had a slight mishap last time out - touch and goes .... somehow right wing dipped and hit ground, enough to spin it on ground - wing bust! Was I annoyed! I have a new wing kit now and just need time to get it all back together - be flying in a week or so I hope.

Final pic ..... a ''G-Shark'' ... bought this off a guy and it does not need much doing. Quadra 50 up front ... only gas motor I have so far .... and yet to get it set up and in the air. Soon I hope.

Do let me know what you get up to in the airo sense .. if in doubt PM me .. I am being a bit wicked posting here!
:p

Chris,

Well, my bones are a bit older than your bones. :D

An extended session with my new P90 last year, reminded me what recoil can do, if one is not careful. I fired two or three hundred rounds from a sand bag rest to check accuracy, plus chrono some factory ammo, and my reloads. Holding one handed, and using my left hand only to squeeze the bag for elevation corrections, made my right wrist sore for a week! :(

I've fired some pretty warm loads from my 5.5" .45 Colt Blackhawk (250gr lead at 1350 fps), and that is just about the limit of my recoil tolerance. :)

Beautiful airplanes! Email to follow.

Bill
