motorcycle conceal question

Florida CCW

I ride here, too. I am also a ATGATT kind of guy ( All the gear all the time). I, either have my fanny pack with me with my 1911 or if I have my snubby wheel gun I carry in a cargo pocket of my riding pants.

most of the real bikers i know wear a hip holster or a cross draw when they want people to see they are carrying. seeing is probably the easiest way to avoid confrontations.

when they don't want you to see it is usually in an inside pocket of their leather vest. snub nose 38's are favorites for this.

many bikers riding a bagger throw the gun in the saddle bag and lock it up when in a bar.

others have a handlebar lock. the lock is bolted to the handlebar and goes through the trigger guard and locks the gun to the handlebar.

most of the bikers don't even lock their bikes, many leave the keys in the ignition. it is the prospects job to make sure no one bothers them.

Wagon, yes, no windshield does wear me out on long trips and lovebug season is hell. I have a small bolt on thing called a windvest that breaks up much of the wind.

The comment about real bikers showing their gun to avoid confrontation has me confused. Florida is not an open carry state and displaying your weapon can cause problems I am not eager to have in my life.

As far as having prospects watch my unlocked bike, I'm not a 1%er, but know a few Warlocks with that luxury, although they have made other sacrifices, like signing over all their worldly possessions to the MC.

I am stuck with Progressive insurance instead of prospects and they like the keys out of the ignition.

More than likely, that disqualifies me from the real biker category....

Good Infor

This will be my first year on a bike in more then 30 years, I will be riding my youngest son's 2003 Sportster. He died this past Febuary. I also plan to carry while riding. I will be riding in memory of my son who loved his bike his children and fishing. I like the vest idea.

vest, small of the back, ankle... but usually I still have it iwb on my hip... my backup is usually in one of the other places ;-) Like the tool box setup very clean and out of site--would be a good backup spot... maybe I will have a backup for my backup ;-)

Carprivershooter. My sincere condolences. Stay strong and with respect keep your mind on the road, lots of changes(traffic, people talking on cell while driving:mad:) in the last thirty years.

Nice bikes the best places i have found to carry while riding is either in a vest pocket or boot. you need to have it in a place where you can get to it quick enough if you do need it.On a bike you cant just roll the window up and grab the gun from you glove box. or you can wear a jacket and have the under the shoudler holster.

went riding yesterday, had my g30 in my gould&goolrich bootlock holster. usually just have my g19 on my hip in it's pancake, but just wanted to do something different.

the vest/jacket pocket is usually the one the best options one can do. easy access and leather just don't let things print very much.

carprivershooter...awesome tribute for your son bro. like previously mentioned, things are alot different then 30 years ago, keep your head on a swivel and keep the rubber side down!
