most powerful 9mm

I emaile BB and they said the 9mm 147 +p+ is in fact bonded gold dots. They also sent me a link to a very interesting article on the "myths" of bonded bullets and their advantages.

Glad to hear they're using gold dots there.

I also don't really dispute the fact you can have mediocre bonded (Montana Gold) and great non-bonded defensive. Federal HSTs are not bonded and are some of the best performing defensive rounds in .45 acp (230 gr) and 9mm (147 and 124 gr.). But, at least for typical handgun velocities, most bonded work better than most non-bonded at non-magnum velocities.

I was a fan of Buffalo Bore until I did some water testing on 100, 45 ACP rounds.. Lots of rounds failed to expand or failed to fully expand.

It was not a scientific test and some water jungs were reshot while leaking from previous shots.. (aimed lower) so yes I know that is going to have a negative effect on the overall test..

Still I was sorely dissapointed with the results... I wont buy BB again unless its crazy cheap and even then plinkers.. no more ccw with BB.

+3 on the Corbon DPX

I did the "backyard" test with wet pack
(wet newspaper packed in milk jugs with layers of denim )

The Corbon expanded to nearly 3/4 inch and penetrated almost 14 inches

I tested it against several JHP types and it was the best.

Its in my two pistols
