most common LE handgun

I'd say the preponderance of Glocks in use by law enforcement stems more from the company offering special reduced prices to law enforcement rather than it being the best thing since sliced bread. Government contracts rarely go towards the superior item in favor of the lowest bid.

I own a Glock 22, and it's a dependable firearm. I do not favor the rake of the hand grip, it always feels uncomfortable to me anyway. YMMV.

GLock. THeir % is shrinking, but still way out ahead. I thought that might change as they seemed to be absolutely refusing to have adjustable grips, but now they have them and I think they will either hold or take back a little of the market.

Regular grips fit me fine.

The sheriff's deputies in our area are very lucky. They get an allowance and can purchase any weapon they want. If the cost of the weapon is more than the allowance they have to pay the difference and if the dept doesn't have an armorer on staff for their brand they have to pay for an inspection by a certified armorer every 6 months. Glock is popular but I've seen a few Sigs and quite a few 1911's.

I don't know and don't care!!!

I'm ol' school and I'll stay with what I know, .38 Spl and .357 Mag revolvers and 1911's in .45 APC.

ERROR-NET; FHP sidearms...

Price check;

A post here has WRONG data. The Florida Highway Patrol uses the .45GAP not the "92" Beretta model. FHP did use the big Beretta 96G in .40S&W sidearm but converted to Glock .45GAPs about 3 years ago.

Thanks for playing, ;)
