Most affordable - collectable 1911?

Yeah Rick that was a spec run study. I love the reading of it, that Singer Sewing Machine did a spec study. Took every bit of Colt knowledge of a 1911 and put their rollmark. They did something because it's most valuable 1911.
I really do love Gold Cups of any era, thanks for all the input. But those sistemas very interesting and getting up in value.

I am going to torture my 1991 now ,look out Walmart with the ammo.

I have a 1941 Colt USGI
A 1951 Colt Commander in 9mm look for a early 9mm

Any 60's and 70 Colts . If clean will be going up

Example my 1972 Colt combat Commander cost me a 150 new in March 1972. Look at what their selling for today .

I paid 600 for a Detonics Combat master made in Belleview Wa. 4 years ago used. Only going up in value

Not really old and blue but one Colt pistol that has surprised me in the last couple years are the Double Eagles. People are really starting to collect these now.

I sort of collect Gold Cups and have about 12 now dating from 1966 to 2015. Below is my new Series 70 made in 2015 under a Series 70 made in 79. I paid $1.1K for the 2015 and $469 for the 79 when I bought it new in 79. Of course if you inflate the 1979 dollars then $469 was about $1.2K 2015 dollars.

I would suggest educating yourself about whatever you want to collect. Take the original MkIV Series 70 Gold Cups. One should know they were made from 1970 till 1983. And in the early 70s they had lightened slides plus the rollmarks changed from large to small in 76 (I think). One should know about the collet barrel bushing and the sear depressor plus sear depressor spring. Of course then there is the roll pin in the rear Elliason sight.
