Most Acurate 9mm Semi

I have a SIG-210, a CZ-75, and a CZ-85 (along with several other 9mms..)

The P-210 is by far the most accurate 9mm around (with the possible exception being a Sig P-229Sport and certain [not all] H&K P7s), but in IDPA shooting (not target shooting) I find the CZ-75 and CZ-85 easier to shoot well.

A SIG-210 is precise. Else, go looking for a Swiss Army P220. They're
damn precise, too, and have a very nice trigger.

And they're DA/SA. I shoot almost as well with my 220 as with a 210.

let's see...of the guns i have and have owned:

SIG P210: by far the most accurate 9mm out there...dare i say, any semi-auto handgun. i have a P210-6 (120mm) and a P210-5 (150mm extended barrel) and both r far more accurate than i, or any other handgun i own.

HK P7M8: very accurate and excellent handgun. excellent trigger, but not as nice as the P210s.

SIG/SAUER P228: probably the best SIG/SAUER handgun they make. excellent feel in the hand and accurate as heck. love mine. my P220A in 9mm is just as accurate too, just doesn't feel as nice in my hands.

CZ-75/85: nice guns, but none tha i have owned been superbly accurate.

if u only have $500, then try finding a SIG/SAUER in either excellent condition used, or find a good deal somewhere.

Walt,

I've seen the CZ75 in the stores I visit but not the 85. What's the difference between the two?

Thanks.

Without a doubt, the most accurate 9mm is the Sig 210 series, but at $1500, it might now be what your looking for.

Hipowers can be great shooters, but you might want to check out the Sig 226 9mm's or the HK P7 series.

the CZ75 is the original gun that is DA/SA but can be cocked and locked with the frame mounted thumb safety.

the difference with the CZ85 is that it has ambidextrous controls. both the thumb safety and slide release r on the right side of the gun. original CZ75 had a dished out portion along the slide serrations, but the CZ85 is not dished out. some CZ85s came with a horrible adjustable sight, avoid these sights if at all possible. the look stubby and have a screw on the side. there is no after market replacement rear sight that will fill the rear sight cut on the slide...sucks.

The newest CZ-85s come with an adjustable sight, and I'd heard that they were horrible. Mine, however, is an exact duplicate of a Mec-Gar adjustable rear sight I pulled off my 1911, when I installed night sights. An exact duplicate: looking at them side by side on a table top, you wouldn't be able to say which was which. (The part that slides into the dovetail on the slide is positioned slightly more rearward on the CZ sight.) So, I assume Mec-Gar makes the new ones.

re CZ:

Also, the CZ-75 has round trigger guard. The front of the trigger guards on the CZ-75B and CZ-85 have flat serrated surface for weak hand finger.

Thanks everyone for the info regarding the CZ75 series pistols.

Looks like I've got some deciding to do now. :)

Don't hate me guys, but the S&W Performance Center 5906 is a tack driver also. We had to ban it from our PPC league duty match, accuracy reasons aside. The bushing does wonders. The other one is a PPC single action 5906 based gun. A separate class is avaiable in the Nationals, a lot of folks use it in the 1500 match, this gun is great at 50 yards. The ones I have seen used are accurate, too poor to own one...
Not that I would buy it anyway.

hksigwalther,

Not quite. Early CZ75s had the rounded trigger guard. Later models have a hooked trigger guard just like the current CZ75Bs.

So many pistols, so little money.

Consider an EAA Witness in 9mm, and send it to AP&W for a hard-fit Nowlin barrel........

2-3" at 50 yards (with chamber-checked ammo!)
