Most accurate revolver?

KORTH IS OUT OF BUSINESS

The most accurate revolvers are 4" GP100's. Petty turned us on to a load that flat shoots: 140g Hornady (not the XTP), H110, best he got was .19"/25yds.
Says he's fired over a dozen, and they ALL like some part of this particular combo.

Since I own a pair thought I'd try it too. Yep, accurate. But I'm using XTP's ('cause they can do actual work).

(I'll grant that FA's are the most accurate.)

Korth is still very much in business.

Their prices are also quite a bit higher than the 3K figure being discussed here.

FWIW, yes, I have CONSIDERED one, in .22 LR no less. I don't really care for the looks of them though. Same with the other top shelf accurate Freedom Arms.

I WAS WRONG (and stand corrected)

But I don't think much of their guns.

(I was sure they went under a few years back, but I may be wrong about that too LOL).

W2,
Not to worry, so did (do?) a lot of people. I've never had the chance to see one (Korth) up close, but their pictures remind me too much of the H&R line. Kinda ,,,well,,shhhh,,ugly  I'd far prefer a Smith old model 17 or 18.

This whole thread is kind silly IMHO, cause I really doubt if one in a hundred million shooters could appreciate the extreme accuracy of guns like a FA or a Korth or even a GP100. What a gun does in a rest and what it does in the hand are worlds apart.

The 25yd ISSF Centrefire Match World Record Score is held by a K 38 Smith&Wesson, and has been for as long as I can remember.
As you will know special loads and superior barrels are used in these matches. The variations on target are in minute fractions of an inch. The only real variables are the shooter and the trigger release(and grip,I suppose).

S&W M-10 and M-14 with a 6 inch barrel and target 38 Special Wadcutters.

M-29-2 is second runner up.

My most accurate revolver (so far) is my 686-4 6" ("deerslayer")...but I have a 6.5 610 classic hunter on the way...so I may just have to re-evaluate my vote soon. ;)

GE Vulcan 20mm. 6,000 rounds per minute. You can run but you can't hide.

GE - We Bring Good Things to Life! :)

There are so many revolvers I've never even shot once that I can't begin to give a definitive answer. But having admitted that, I think the S&W 629 Classic (with 5" or longer barrel) has to be very near the top of the list.

The most accurate revolver that I personally own, would have to be my pre-28 with 6" barrel, although I have a 1951 vintage K-22 on the way. We'll see. ;)

Smith and Wesson Model 14 Target Masterpiece.

One of the gun rags has a special feature this month about Dan Wesson revolvers. They had a picture of a group they shot with a small frame in .32 H&R, it was so tiny, I thought they missed 3 times! Center-to-center, it had to have been 0.25" or less (25yards).

I've got that magazine.

It's American Handgunner.

Looks like it's the 90gr Hornady JHP w/10.0g of H4227 load on the accompanying table. (Though the pictured target says "JHC" on it.) If that's the load, it was .5". Looks like a 3 shot group, but it's not. Scary.

Was that a vintage DW that shot that group, or a new one? Seeing that group makes me want one, or rather, moreso than I already did!

5 screw Smith K-32

A 5 screw Smith K-32 Masterpiece was my most accurate pistol with it's 6 inch barrel. It is of a quality no longer made and a collectors piece now too valuable to shoot.

I do still have a K-38 unfired for when I need some money.

nyetter: I think it was a new model. They test fired two guns (the other was a .32-20) but the article didn't go into a lot of detail on them, it was mostly a fluff piece about Dan Wesson's history (which may not be fluff if you like that sort of thing, but I expected more discussion of the revolvers.) so I'm not sure if these were newer models or not. I'd assume so, though.

Pre-War 5-screw .38-200 donor gun

fitted with 6" Apex barrel (Are those even made anymore?), Model 13 .38 Special cylinder, ball-detent in the crane, shimmed, stoned, polished parts under the sideplate, Aristocrat scope rib, homemade cylinder release, and a plain utilitarian parkerizing job. Built for the Steel Challenge, it's scary how accurate and fast it is in double action mode when fed a steady diet of 148gr HBWC loads, as well as 158gr SWC loads. ;)

The most accurate revolver I have owned, and still have, is my Smith model 14 .38 Special with the 6 inch barrel. I won a lot of NRA matches with this old timer back when my eyes worked well. I don't know how to justify this though. <grin>
