Mossberg 810 AHT Bolt Action Rifle 30-06

Hi

I need help finding information about Mossberg 810 AHT bolt action rifles. I could not find any information on Google. I have an opportunity to buy a used one in fair condition at my LGS for $299.00 plus tax. It includes a Bianchi leather sling and a Bushmell scope. It is chambered in 30-06. I think Mossberg discontinued this rifle and may not have replacement parts for it...

Is there anything I should be aware about regarding this rifle? Comments please ???

Had a Mossberg 800 in 308. Fantastic rifle, nice stock, great blueing, good trigger, and very acurite. Put three rounds in a quarter at 100yds with a 4-12 bushnell banner, match ammo, either prone or off a bench. Very simple design. The 810 was made after the 800, was supposed to be better, depending on who you ask. If you needed parts you could search the internet for em or have it made in a machine shop. As long as everything is in good to great shape $299 is a fair price. :)

I contacted Mossberg and learned they definitely stopped servicing or selling replacement parts for this rifle. They referred me to www.Havlinsales.com

I emailed them for information about the rifle and parts availability. Unfortunately, they have not responded yet to my info request... :((

Mossberg 810s

The 810 was made from 1970-1975 . They have the Accro-Groove barrel , and one of the sweetest triggers anybody ever put on a production rifle . I have owned two of them , one 30-06 and a 7mm Rem. Mag. after glass bedding and trigger adjustment , both were sub MOA shooters . GunPartsCorp still has parts for them . They are very robust and reliable rifles , and wicked accurate . They are not the same rifle as the 800 (short action , different trigger) , so ignore what is said about 800s when comparing them to the 810 ! If you'll do the two things I mentioned , you will have a very reasonably priced tack driver .

I don't , my 06 had 4 letters after the model number , no idea what they denote ! Did you notice the 4 massive locking lugs on the bolt , those things are like a bank vault . I do believe that has something to do with the accuracy of these guns .

Havlin Sales told me these rifles are excellent. However, they warned me about the hinged floor plates being fragile. They break easily and the replacements are no longer available. This has me thinking about canceling the purchase because the rifle I inspected had a beat up floor plate...
