I have been known to attend roll call with affixed bayonet on my shotgun. Seems to disturb th bosses

Heat shield
I ordered the standard 590 heatshield by mistake. I installed it anyway. It fits, but you can't use the retaining screws that are meant to hold the front plastic keeper in place because the gap is too wide. I used stainless steel cotterpins instead.
I'll try and post a bayonet pic.

Ledbetter, did you have to really spread the front of the shield to get that clamp to fit over the barrel (instead of sliding it in)?
Get ready:
I slid it in, ignoring the fingernails on chalkboard sound.
I also routed a round channel into the black plastic keeper to accomodate the larger barrel. The cotter pins were bent into an arc to fit in the holes and through the keeper. The fit is very very tight on the barrel to begin with.
