Mosin Nagant

the last one i bought was 69.00 at jg sales. it was a 1929 with hex reciever all numbers matched bore was in great shape.took me about 6 hrs,to break it down and clean it really good.i took a couple of breaks. great shooter.rounds out my mosin collection pretty good..enjoy,they are cool guns..

here is my mosin m91 with original pu scope that was used in ww2, my scope wasnt used in ww2 but it was built exactly to specifications and at the same factory where the ww2 pu scopes were made, im also looking into buying the shorter mosin m44 for scopeless hunting and target shooting. here is a pic of mine.

Hey RC1986 that is my picture of my M/52 rifle

Raffy, why would you use a picture of my rifle? Especially a rifle as famous as mine?

If anyone would like to see more pics, let me know.

It has the original serialized Hungarian scope which has pristine clarity and the original mount.

I have an original correct cleaning rod and bayonet as well.

These are probably among the most important parts of owning an M/52 Sniper.

If your not collecting then a M44 would be my choice.
The 762x54r is a great round and fun to shoot.
The M44 being a carbine has a pretty good kick to it but nothing a good recoil pan can't fix.
The do have recoil pads just for the Mosin style rifles.(direct replacement)
I have seen many a 91/30 or M44 with what some consider poor barrels shot very good out to 150 yards.
The actions / bolts are can be rough but with a little polishing they smooth out pretty nicely.
As for the stock trigger they can be hit or miss.
I have a couple that the triggers are crisp with little take up, others not so desirable.
There are good aftermarket triggers assemblies out there.

when you buy your rifle, please go through a good cleaning process before shooting at all. I prefer boiling water. but others have other methods which may be better. I have heard of brake cleaner etc. regardless, the nasty cosmoline HAS to come off. if you don't, before you shoot, you will never get it fully clean.

after cleaning, come here and post a pic

I am sorry guys. I didn't mean to necromancy such an old thread. I was just tracking down an errant picture (bottom of previous page) used by some wierdo to scam people.

It's a shame that somebody claimed your rifle as their own! You said you could show more pictures, I'd like to see some. That looks like an excellent rifle.

well I'm going to go out and say that he is no longer an active member here as the aforementioned post was the last one he ever made. he was only an active member here for 4 days as in he joined november 6th 09 and last post was november 10th 09, making me think that he was probably trolling or likely social engineering folks into giving personal info by pretending to be an avid enthusiast.

unfortunately once a picture is on the internet, it is there forever and anyone can get their hands on it with nothing more than a right-click, save as.

BTW that is not me pointing my rifle at the neighbors house. That is me pointing at my own house from the gun space in the old garage.
