More snubbies than ever?

Back in 1994 I wrote an article of the state of the snubnose revolver for American Rifleman magazine.

Much to the surprise of a lot of people, the snubnose was thriving, even well into the age of the Wonder9 seemingly making everything else obsolete.

That hasn't changed much in the subsequent nearly 25 years.

My first carry gun was a Charter Arms undercover.

While I've branched out over the years, my preferred carry guns are generally still snubnose revolvers.

In addition to the Charter (which is retired), I now have:
  • Smith & Wess 042 Centennial 2" (.38 Spl.)
  • S&W Model 38 Humpback 2" (.38 Spl.)
  • S&W Model 36 2" (.38 Spl.)
  • S&W Model 36 3" (.38 Spl.)
  • S&W Model 19 2.5" (.357 Mag.)
  • S&W Model 12 2" (.38 Spl.)
  • S&W Model 30 (.32 Long) 2"

Yeah, I like Smith & Wessons.

At one time I also had a Detective Special. But, like another poster here, I couldn't get used to having to pull the thumb latch back to open the cylinder. The S&W mode is, to me, far more useful and easier to do with one hand.

So, I traded the DS (which I hadn't) for an S&W Model 36 nickel square butt 3" (not the one I now have), which I later sold to a friend's father.
