More on Gore - He's now pro-CCW

On the tangent issue of police vs. citizen, I have some problems with the fact that police officers can purchase any thing that I can not be it Hi-caps or Full auto with out going through the EXACT same system I do.

If the police think it is a good idea to carry 15rnds of 9mm for them but only 10 for me are the conceding that I am a better shot than they ? The classic refrain that cops deal with situations that I dont does not wash with me either it that IF I ever have to defend my self or others (remember that is the ONLY reason for deadly force for them too.) I will not be able to hit a squak buttom and say "officer in trouble" I get to call 911 any body want to time the difference in response? To be blunt if it is good enough for our "public servents" then it should be good enough for the PUBLIC.

I actually supported Gore for pres. at one time......Had a bumper sticker on my car that said "GORE IN 94" :D :D

Hey Animal, was that 2094? Gore will carry on the Clinton agenda because Clinton's spin doctors are writing his speaches. If he makes it his first act will be to ........ Pardon Bill! We just had our primarys and though our state voted for Dole in the last election, I was amazed at the state wide numbers much more democrats voted for Gore than Bush. Folks, we gotta talk up the Gore Stupid angle, internet invention etc. Make people think (as much as possible) Microsoft made this economy boom not Bill, and what is he doing, shooting the goose that laid the golden egg! "I don't know about Gore and CCW" Read his quotes. He wants all Americans disarmed. Course we all could carry an assalt PickAxe (another topic tonight). Currently most of the Conceiled Carry laws suck. I have one, but went to our Attorney Generals web site today and found out just how restrictive it is. Moreso than I learned in class to qualify. Do you really think we will ever have parity as long as the general population think our current President is doing a "good job"!

Sumabich, I think it was definitely 1994. Consider that Clinton was elected in 1992. Now think of the only way Gore could have been President in 1994.....

Nestor, on the subject of the full-capacity magazines for Peace Officers.

I had to get a letter from my Sheriff for each purchase of full-capacity magazines. And when you leave the department, the full-capacity magazine stays in the department--which gets really interesting if you have a pistol that no one else is liable to carry.

My first full-size 9mm was a Ruger P94--and the Sheriff would not sign a letter allowing me to purchase LE-Only mags because he didn't think anyone else would be able to use them if I left.

Several departments that I know of will allow you to carry any weapon (within reason) for your sidearm--but will only sign letters for Glock full-size mags. If you want to carry a sidearm other than a Glock, you've got two choices. Buy your own full-size mags at market prices, or carry Clinton Specials.

What a bunch of losers! I am Damned tired of sticking up for RKBA, only to have so many people on TFL come down hard on the police.
I am required by law to render assistance (read:intervene) even off-duty. The average off-duty officer doesn't have a 'sqwawk box' to yell into, like you seem to think. The average officer DOES have people who would like to see him hurt or dead, and these guys sometimes actively hunt the officers. Yes, I am generally better trained and have a demonstrated need for those restricted items.
You, for the most part, can avoid trouble, I have to look for it.
I'm sick of all this childish behavior. Look, salvaging our rights is difficult enough at this point. For the sake of society, law enforcement needs should be supported. Support us, and we will support you. Keep up with the childish jelousy, and you will drive us away. You will convince us of everything Klinton wants us to believe.

You are speaking for me also. I am getting tired of the negativity against LEOs on this site. I am extremely RKBA, but I am getting REALLY TIRED of the CRAP! I come to legal and political to keep up on info and to continue to fight for RKBA, but frankly I am tired of the insults. If a fence wobbler LEO came to this site and saw this negativity, I am afraid it would push them to the other side. PLEASE stop the negativity and insults. Some of you guys are doing exactly what the antis want, splitting up our "team".
 
Well it seems that I have offended the Law Enforcement contingent here at TFL, that was not my intent.I do not retract what I have written and stand by it. Some people here know my history if they think I was out of bounds please tell me.

As for Nyetrunner your dept. may have that policy I know several people in LE that there depts don't so what does that prove ? If the RKBA is for the PEOPLE than it is for ALL the people not some of the people or at different levels for some of the people. If it is a RIGHT than it must be an EQUAL right else it is a privilage to be granted to those that have been favored by those in power.

I wish to thank the members of Law Enforcment for there DECISSION to serve in that profession. I just hope that the "blue line" does not grow so wide that some may forget that it was and is there DECISSION and the we are are (supposadly) equal before the law.
 
Interesting. Remember how Germans had to be members of the nazi party to own a firearm in WWII Germany? Will we have to join the democratic party or become LEOs (or Marshalls/gestapo) to own a firearm in the near future? Of course our license will be revokable if we associate with the wrong people or speak out against "The Party". Is this where the Vice-Perpetrators plan will lead us?

I was refering to the title of this thread, although you are entitled to your rant.

We'll see if the rank-and-file LEOs, who, unlike their politically appointed chiefs, are pro2A will behave when this divide and conquer technique is tried.

Will they stick to their guns and say, "No, although I would benefit from this special law, I will not support it until every law-abiding citizen has the infringements of his rights to self defense removed as well."

Now, that would be cool. I've already heard LEOs spake thus.
