Which part of "18 U.S. Code 922(g)" is Penn in violation of? And does that code refer to mere possession, or is it the purchase or sale of firearms?

Dashunde implies that Mr. Penn may have violated Subsection (g)(1). I discuss the fact that tabloid reports imply he may have also violated Subsection (g)(9), as some of his past actions involved domestic partners.Sweet Shooter said:Which part of "18 U.S. Code 922(g)" is Penn in violation of? (g) It shall be unlawful for any person—
(1) who has been convicted in any court of, a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year;
[(2) - (8) omitted]
or,
(9) who has been convicted in any court of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence,
to ship or transport in interstate or foreign commerce, or possess in or affecting commerce, any firearm or ammunition; or to receive any firearm or ammunition which has been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce.
I cant figure out why any actor would want to touch the gun issue anyway
Tell me, what does it say about a person who publically admits to owning 65 "cowardly killing machines"?
These actors and actresses only portray the "glamor and glory" (for lack of better words) of shooting people.
I dunno; I'd presume that some folks go into the acting business because they love attention, and their big mouths are another manifestation of this.Dashunde said:I cant figure out why any actor would want to touch the gun issue anyway44 AMP said:The simple answer is money.
Joe, how do you know that Penn doesn't own guns anymore?
"The highest bidder gets every single one of my guns put in the hands of this iconic artist and sculptor…Koons will decommission [and] render inactive all of my cowardly killing machines."
You hit the nail on the head with that. He'll gladly delegate violence to others (which is what we potentially do when we call the police), but he gets to keep his own hands clean of it.Then again, maybe he doesn't have any ..... but he's got hirelings for that, no doubt...
The sad truth is that a lot of the people who hire actors DO care about the gun issue, and their stance is against "ordinary" people owning guns.
Time out. Isn't Sean Penn one of those Hollywood celebs who have a history of beating up on women? Who is he to be complaining about "cowardly"?"The highest bidder gets every single one of my guns put in the hands of this iconic artist and sculptor…Koons will decommission [and] render inactive all of my cowardly killing machines."
TheIndependent.co.ukEnraged by press helicopters hovering low over the ceremony in Malibu, he (Penn) found a gun and started firing at them.
Time.com..actor ended up paying a $100 fine for two counts of assault and battery..
