Money for Nothin & You Grips fer Free

You know, if you had just started with "Hey guys! Watch this!" I might have been better prepared.

Sorry about that TEHO.

I guess it was a cheap shot.

I get carried away sometimes.

No harm intended,

Tabdog

Tabdog-
I agree. A handgun is a tool and a tool sometimes needs modifications to fit the job or the user. If it works for you maybe it will work for someone else. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks TX Gun Nut. :)

Why in the world would you do something like that? That boggles the mind.

Hay Old Bare,

The word improvement comes to mind.

Why don't people who have nothing constructive to say, just keep
quiet?

If you stay in a cocoon and just follow people around, the world is
a scary place.

Get out, have fun and try doing it your way.

It will change your out look, :)

It would hard to make the Kel-Tec look any worse, and the revolver is cool. Thumbs up...

Thanks Space Coast,

The revolver turned out real nice. It will be nicer and easier to control.

I am not sure about the KelTec. If I don't like it after I shoot it, off it comes.

Happy Shootin,

Tabdog

I have some up-dated photos.

The plastic coat has cured now and looks a little different,

Here are a few photos showing the finish results,

Doing the Kel Tec trigger had some merit and wasn't a crazy idea. But you said it yourself... "Then I got carrried away and did the whole frame." :barf:

The NAA actually looks pretty good and IMO better represents the desired outcome.

What else do you have laying around that could be rubber coated? This could turn into a little flea-market business. How about making some "manly-looking" utensils. I think lower part of a zippo could be cool if done neatly.
A really good one would be the bottom of coffee mugs and drinking glasses so that you don't need to use coasters. Also, the palm-swell part of brass knuckles and the earpiece area on eyeglasses that don't already have somekind of covering. Be creative and look around the house for ideas.

You have to admit my idea for doing the drinking glasses is pretty good. Ask PlayboyPenguin how much his restaurant could save on cocktail napkins/paper coasters if all his glasses had a thin non-slip rubber bottom. Then multiply by a bunch if you can get a contract with a couple of franchise places.

You can thank me after you make a few bucks with this idea.

Hay Ed,

You are sure a creative guy.

The plastic dip is fun stuff. This is my third can.

I am just a crazy old fart. I love to toy with things.

I like yur ideas. Thank you for the feed back.

That kind of stuff makes these forums great.

Up-Date

I went out with my two sons and a friend.
We shot pistols.

I was very happy with the 22Mag grips. I
am very glad I did that.

I am also very satisfied with the trigger on
the KelTec. It feels nice.

But,,,,, I just had to loose the coat on the
KelTec. It's to sticky feeling.

Hay, two out of three ain't bad!!!

I may go back and just do the grips, but not
the whole thing.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog

"Sticky" makes for an improved IWB carry without a holster, I used it for snubby revolvers with Pachmayr grips for years. Kel-Tec's belt clip is a better option but every successful innovation is proceded by (and likely followed by) several failures.
Like you, I think two out of three is pretty impressive. Bravo!

Well Tabdog I dont think I would have done that with my guns. But I have to Tip my hat to you for thinking out side the box on this one.

I recall using that same rubbercoat on some tools years ago. The bottom line - I hated the way it looked and it wasn't durable at all. But, y'all have fun with it - no thanks!

I can see a certain utility factor in this, well outside of any aesthetic appeal

The derringer came out rather clean and nice actually
