Model 1 sales ?

Anybody bought stuff from Model 1 sales before ? I've been looking at the Dissipator Carbine in 6.8. Hard to beat for 600 bucks. Looking for a little feedback.

About 4-5 years ago, they had some issues with substandard small parts and quality was a bit spotty. Their stuff over the last couple of years has been markedly better.

I have owned at least four uppers that were either bought whole or pieced together from M1S, and for casual/hunting use they worked quite well. If this is going to be a serious defense gun, I would probably still be OK with M1S stuff but would prefer to buy from tier 1 vendors instead.

If I get this, I'm planning on replacing some of the stock stuff, so any of the smaller parts that might be questionable will probably be gone anyway. Price being a huge consideration here, if the gun is sound, looks like the best option for me right now.

I recently built up a stripped lower with an M1 complete kit, there's nothing wrong with it. So far it's only done about 1500 rounds but it hasn't malfunctioned once and everything is breaking in evenly.

Last year they were several months behind in filling orders. I could have built the rifle quicker by buying elsewhere but it would have cost me at least $200 more.

I have built several rifles from thier parts and all were gtg. I currently have their flat top uppers on 4 of my AR's. No problems. :)

I've done well with Model 1 barrels and one kit. They do often have things you can't easily find elsewhere.

Model 1 sales,

They are about 50 miles from me, I am going to go visit them in a week or so.

I am also looking for the 6.8 or 6.5 for hunting. They quoted me a nice price for an complete upper.

Over on AR15.com, there is a lot of discontent with Model 1 Sales...extremely long wait times, bad customer service, and kits with questionable quality in parts...

Ridgerunner,I've always had discontent for AR15.com for the same reasons.

I have put together several AR's with Model 1 Sales parts & uppers and all have performed great. Are there better ones out there? Sure, but for a general fun/hunting AR there is nothing wrong with them.

I don't use their parts kits though,I strictly use RRA kits w/2 stage NM triggers.

I've always had good luck with stuff from Model 1. I've also bought several complete uppers from them, all worked perfectly. The only alteration I made was with the 7.62x39 upper in which I put a MGI Enhanced Bolt in lieu of the BCg offered by Model 1.

IMHO, the wait is long because of many repeat customers like me, but worth it.

I don't know why they would have a wait that long. They were at the Ft.Worth gunshow 2 weeks ago,and had just about every upper they make for sale on their tables, and had several of each one.

I have one of their barrels on my AR Pistol. It's not chrome lined, so I'll probably replace it in a couple years. Functions fine.

I've never had a problem with Mod 1 Sales or their products. Wait time on the last two kits I bought was 4 & 6 weeks.

Really like their E.R. Shaw bbls, I have over 10k thru one and its still dead nuts!

I like e'm!:)

I cancelled my order because of their policy. They have a long wait time, but they go to gunshows and sell their products there. I feel that if you have the product send it out to the first customers. I went with JT distributing.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I was going to start a similar one.

I bought a M1Sales 24" Varmint Upper, ER Shaw fluted barrel free floated.
Then I bought cheap ammo and a cheap scope and cheap scope mount.
It was my first big purchase and I wanted it all at once.
I got dinner plate shot patterns. Since then, I have bought very expensive ammo of different grains and manufactures, an expensive one piece scope mount, and an OK scope 10x Super Sniper.
I know that nut right behind the trigger can be a problem as well, but I did put it in a sled at the range and could not get a decent shot group.

Someone posted that they had quality problems about the time I bought it.
I am not even sure what to ask. DO I scrap it and start over? I want to hit a groundhog at 200-400m.

Edit: coffee had not kicked in yet. I called M1S customer srv and they could not be more friendly. I will sent it to them to take a look at.
