My lawyer files the suit [for slander and libel], ... First thing you'll be asked is how many guns you own. Why do you feel the need to own these guns. Etc. Your background will be examined for criminal activity, domestic abuse, psychiatric conditions. A total invasion of your privacy. And the cost to you, money, money, hours and days.

Please read the entire post.

Allowing this person to continue having access to the board is an error of major proportions. He should be ejected from any connection with any legitimate firearms boards, and in all liklihood should face criminal charges.
This just damages the credibility of everyone attempting to conduct any business on a board.
He should have been dumped after his earlier episodes.

Absolutely bizarre. First Marv and now this guy. I am glad I bailed from that board months ago.

I wonder if at some point, the guy that runs the board will end up as a co-defendant.

Well said Oatka. I bailed in February; and turned my attention elsewhere, knowing that the moderator problems on that board had no quick fix coming.

On a brighter note: It was a gorgeous day in Texas to go shooting...

I bought a couple of magazines from this guy. They were fine, but took forever to arrive. He had all sorts of excuses. As far as the legal threats are concerned- he is an idiot.

Ask him who his "lawyer" is. I'll bet he won't give you a name.

Yes.
Bizarre is a good word for it. Maybe "Beyond Bizarre".
I don't go to the AR forum much anymore either. As I understand it, this guy does good work. However, a bunch of guys sent him mags to be refurbished and never heard from their mags again. Even after this sad episode, he was made a moderator.
Strange things happen.

That's why I like TFL. That AR board reminds of a circus. I agree with WLM, "Bizarre is a good word for it. Maybe 'Beyond Bizarre'."

Just one of the Good Guys

Ed Avila, Sr. (AR15.com General Dicsussion forum moderator and father of owner Edward Avila, Jr.) and I have been exchanging Email regarding the situation this morning and Ed has offered a valid and understandable explaination from the staff/owners point of view. The matter will be addressed but, for obvious reasons, can not be taken care of instantly.
In the mean time there is no reason, in my opinion, to bring their problem to this board other than to warn the members to take precautions before committing money to this vendor.
In other words the arguement is rather heated over there and understandable as that is I would not want to see it spill over here.

Gunslinger

I was promised a Shortycicle and I want a Shortycicle!

I read that topic over there. By the way he treated his paying customers, and subsequent behavior (i.e. threatening the lawsuit against pretty much anyone who irritated him) he needs to be removed from that forum as a moderator AND as a member. Perfect example of why I stay away from there.

Any of these excuses sound familiar?

"Sorry it took so long. I had problems with my supplier.

Sorry it took so long. I had an illness in the family.

Sorry it took so long. I had a death in the family.

Sorry it took so long. I guess the postal system got messed up. I shipped it a long time ago."

LOL The guy obviously does not understand law. He never should've opened his trap.

I was tempted to register just to flame the guy, but I see MountainMan44 has already done a fine job of dressing him down. Hmmmm... any relation?

I briefly could not get on TFL yesterday, and, because I had just bought a new rifle I was mighty proud of and wanted to brag about ( http://www.thefiringline.com/NonCGI/Forum3/HTML/004017.html ), I got antsy...I went over to AR15 to see if anyone was mentioning TFL being down...and one of their moderators was antagonizing one of their members, schoolyard style! "Whatsa matter, did we hurt your wittle feelings? What are you, a girl?"

I am a girl...and I'm glad our moderators here don't use that as a slam.

The real bad thing about this is, the anti's see this type activity amongst us, and decide it's a good thing.

We're fighting and they couldn't be any happier about it. Not involved in that situation, and don't want to either.

Bad thing for US.

Paul Prodhorn has been on the AR15list for years

He used to post that a major red dot sight manufacturer saw his plans, that he submitted to the army for a red dot. Next thing his patents are being infringed but his design is still better. But he doesn't know how to post pictures to the web. I offered to help but he was busy. Then a tornado flattened his shop and he lost all his samples...

Paul is only the moderator of his business section on AR15.com.

Dont go bashing AR15.ocm.

I like TFL's reloading forum, but some of its polocies are ridiculously PC.

Dont go knocking a forum that allows off topic disscussion and doesnt ban members like the democrates ban guns.

Just dont go talking trash about a site thats been around for a long time and helped thousands of people. BTW, I speak for myself, not the owner of AR15.com, other members, or moderators.

If the staff here feels that I have been a meanie with my post, take whatever action you feel is necessary.

*Edited for the following, nothing else*

Man, that was a lot of "dont go"es wasnt it? ;)

Big Pig - while I disagree with you - you havn't violated forum policy by making a personal attack.
And neither has anyone here made any personal attack to members of AR15.com (which isnt taboo technically - just making a point).
So there is no "action" to ba taken - other than to say "Lighten Up". You have to admit that situation is very strange.
