Misfits?

My vote goes to the 1915 Chauchat machine gun. My first reason is if I had not heard someone pronounce it, I would be at a loss. My next reason is that this thing was actually issued to American troops and was designed for war. A person would be lucky to get a full clip fed through the thing in 2 hours. None of the parts would interchange. It would break apart if used as a club. The effective range of the 8X50R Lebel was 2100 yards - if it would shoot. If it overheated it would stop firing until cooled. Thank goodness the US Army sent over BAR's to equip the boys in the trenches.

one of the single most popular rifles Europe these last 20 years

accurate, modular, can have anything from a knockaround in the woods synthetic to a fancy, schmancy woodstock with all the bells and whistles

name any other rifle you can get from the factory in pretty much anything from 22lr to 475 H&H

straight pull, cocking device for safe carry

its only downfall are that they are not able to have bigger detachable magazines but for a hunting rifle that is a small thing

Taking away the Lewis Gun from the 1st Provisional Marine Brigade, and then issuing every one in the AEF a Chauchat might be the worst damn fooled thing the Army Ordnance Corps ever did.

And all because Crozier, who for the most part was smart enough, disliked Colonel Lewis.

Any Taurus
Disagreed. IMHO Taurus's problem isn't a lack of sound and marketable ideas; their problem is execution of those ideas.

To me, a "misfit" is a gun that's conceptually flawed, which is not the case with any Taurus I can think of, and this is coming from someone who believes that the Judge is a gimmick- but it's a really clever and appealing gimmick, and it sells.

I'd say the striker 12 gauge shotgun is one of the most useless shotguns, or firearms in general, ever made. Other than being kind of neat, it's an absolutely terrible design.

Another vote for the Taurus Curve here.

Also, pistol bayonets.

The ACR could've avoided being on the island but at over 8lbs and none of the promised caliber change kits available from Schrubmaster I think it deserves a spot.

The Mosberg 500 Chainsaw. Totally useless.

Those hideous tactical lever actions.

The Recover Tactical CC3 polymer rail and grip adapter for 1911s and other pistols.

Bro, do you even operate?

That made me laugh :D

I wanted to put that ATI STG44-22lr on the list but it is pretty darn cool, a 9lb .22lr is kind of ridiculous but still cool. Just wish they would come out with it in 7.62x39 or something similar to the original caliber.

I held one of those at the gun store. I felt the urge to walk east.

But yes, it would be on my short list too if it was .30 Russian Short.

Yes, but they're modifications of a solid, revered design. I wonder if it's more accurate to include guns that were flawed by design.

Brah, if I operated any harder, I'd be working for the phone company.

I own one of those ATI StG44-.22lr rifles and they are awesome, Fun to shoot and very accurate. The one down side is the crappy magazine that has to be loaded very carefully or the shells will fall inside upside down or backwards.
