"Minority" TFLers. How do liberals react to you?

I am a minority in Atlanta... you guessed it... I'm a straight WHITE male

::gasp::

A bonafied member of the ONLY unprotected group in American society. No majority scholarships, White Entertainment Television (WET), and it's not possible for me to become the victim of any sort of Hate Crime. With that said, I like it here.

Completely Hyphenless,
Ben

Thanks for the invite. Most of my shooting friends are white. Personally, I could careless whether you are white, black, yellow, orange, pink, blue whatever as long as you have an open mind and support RKBA. :)

OK, I give, I've seen RKBA in a lot of posts, what the heck is it (they??).

Camo skin is kewl. I had camo skin while in the army :p It doesn't matter what color skin you have. In the end, we all bleed red. Unless your an alien like FUD who probably bleeds green :p

Check out Duck Hunt's web site. She's pretty cute ;)

As far as I know, I am the only gun owner in my synagogue. I've had a spirited email debate with the rabbi about it. She's a typical far left LIberal, firm supporter of the MMM, etc. But to be fair, she has listened to see my side of it, too. One of those "Gun Free Zone" signs has been proposed for the building. I've replied that, instead, they should save time and post a sign that says, "Unarmed Jews Here! Come on in and kill a few!" No sign yet, so perhaps my argument has been considered. Further, no one at the temple has ever given me any grief about my beliefs. That's good.

My relatives are far more trouble. My cousin says that anyone who owns a gun should be imprisoned. My family is a lost cause, I'm afraid, but they don't let politics hurt our relationship, so that's another good thing.

I remain mystified how any Jew can be for disarmament. Everyone in my father's family in Poland was murdered by the Nazis. They were disarmed first, of course, then shipped to Lodz, then the camps, then gassed.

It gets back to the basis of Liberalism: politics as a means of congratulating yourself on your wonderfulness.

Any gun owner who votes Democratic this November should be the first to have their arms confiscated. Hey; that's an idea. Make a list of gun owners who vote for Gore, and then send it to the BATF so they'll know who to come for first. Would save time and taxpayer money.

Wow, I am impressed to see other like minded jews, thinking like me. How about it jews, probably the most liberal of all the races, and we actually have a few black sheep. When I go to protest I always wear my yarmulke, and the damn pressis shocked that a jew would be pro-gun. I always remind them of the holocaust that not only took the lives of 6 million jews, but also another 6 million lives of polish and russian soldiers along with gypies and any other handicapped person. They died b/c they were unarmed.

Hey I agree let confiscate all the guns from the gore lovers. I love it.

You wanna talk minority? How about the "Heinz 57" or "mutt" variety?

Father - English, Irish, and Apache/Kiowa mix

+

Mother - Italian, Philipine, Spainish, and Portugese

= Big Al. 25, 5'5", and 155# of UNIQUE.

I'd have to say (B) because when I'm out of the workplace I dress in JNCO jeans or shorts, Adidas shirts and usually a ball cap with a couple of gold rings and a necklace. Usually it's older (50+) guys at the range and gun shops that do the most staring at me and my buds. But for the most part, 99.99999% of shooters and hunters I run into are overwhelmingly friendly. Never had a major problem with any of the "good guys", so to speak.

And yes, I'm the NRA - and I vote. :-)

I am only regarded as a minority when i pull that big .50 out of the case , set it up and proceed to loosen up everyones sinuses.

but the other day I was at the range and was shooting and this good lookin older chick.(45 or so ) starts asking me questions about my rifle. Come to find out , she is running for state senator and has an exellent chance of making it. We talked politics and talked about the .50 rifles in particular and she said she had heard alot of negative comments about them being too powerful and deadly in the wrong hands. I told her that a .22 was deadly in the wrong hands . Anyhow, she thanked me for all the info and said that she was glad to see what it was all about. She was very pro gun and had a 9mm she was practicing with . She said she wants to get her CCW , so chances are exellent Ill be the one doing it.

Maybe, just maybe, she can be a positive influence in congress....

"Is there anything wrong with a woman preferring the dignity of an armed citizen? I don't like to be coddled and I don't like to be treated like a minor child. So I waive immunity and claim my right -- I go armed." -- Longcourt Phyllis in Beyond This Horizon by Robert Heinlein

hoosierboy, without going to far into the subject of Jews, your comments and those of other Jews made me chuckle. The building manager for the studio I lease once confided in me that he was Jewish, after I'd been dealing with him for 10 years. I've never been able to tell if someone was Jewish or not, perhaps because it's never mattered. Anyway, as we talked, he told me how surprised he was that I was a conservative like him. He thought all "creative" types were liberals.

Generalizations work both ways.

Well, being female, 1/2 filipino and 1/2 everything else in the world, people look at me kinda strangely when I walk up to the station wagon with the "I am the gun lobby" sticker on it. And my "I am the NRA" checks gather quite a few raised eyebrows too. The money with "GUN OWNER$" stamped on it (every bill in my wallet) makes folks look at you differently too. I don't know what most folks expect to see associated with those statements, but it apparently ain't me.

I think the best incident was at a recent wedding where this young lady tried to tell me that it was my duty to be a liberal because I was a minority. Sheesh.

Sadly, Hitler and co. killed off the people who would have best understood your reasons for being armed. It baffles me that so many jews here in the US, more than any other race of religious group, fail to understand the importance of being armed. I have known a few jews and liked every one of them.

My favorite though is a guy named Saul, who lives in the metro area. He runs a gear business that utilizes CNC heavily. He is politically active and just a cool guy. He also knows a lot about why we do what we do. He was in the concentration camps, then "liberated" by the Russians, who sent him to Siberia, where he suffered for a while until somehow he escaped to the US and started a machine shop in his garage. Too bad there are so few like him. That's a man who truly understands the concept of "never again"

Apple-a-day,

You said,"We (Americans of Cuban descent) tend to be thought of by liberals as gun-toting, cigar-chomping, raft-paddling, Democrat-hating fruitcakes."

I always thought I was of German descent. But it turns out that I'm Cuban too. Can't wait to tell Grandpa!
