Million Mom Vote! We are losing...

"I believe with
tougher gun legislation it would not be necessary to
have a gun in any home"

Is she claiming that if there were more laws against guns, then there would be no crime and no need to own a gun?
What an idiot.

That "backwards tampon inserting" crack that you made was too funny. LOL The guys over on the AR-15 forum think that some guy made that. ;-)

Joe, what comment are you talking about? I was... well... quite civil... just told it like it is!

Poll results:
380 people have voted

1. Gun registration, waiting periods before buying handguns and child-safety locks should be:
53% voluntary
45% mandatory
2% not sure

2. Would you vote for a candidate whose stance on gun control differed from your own?
12% yes
69% no
19% not sure

3. Do you support the goals of the Million Mom March?
36% yes
53% no
11% not sure

4. Would you categorize your opinion of gun control laws as:
53% advocating fewer government regulations and controls
43% advocating greater government regulation and control
4% not sure

How sad is it that mainly men had to respond to the poll to get the numbers right? Changing a poll won't change the world.

Monkeyleg,
(MustangSally)

I guess you just had to be there to find what MustangSally said to be funny. Like she said, she was fairly civil. ;-) I reposted the original post about the poll on several forums (AR-15.com, GlockTalk, subguns.com, and my 2nd Amendment forum), so that we could get more people on our side to go vote. I know some of the regulars from each of those forums and I could see what comments were being made by who and from what forum they were from. It was fun to see everyone "go at it" from many different directions.

Some of the guys from AR-15.com saw what MustangSally posted and thought one of their regulars had made the post. It was truly funny, because I knew MustangSally was from TFL. Here is what they said...

"Done!

btw. Who was the idiot who left the "backwards inserting tampon" comment? Things like that will NOT further our cause.

ShortyAK"

"Done-Ok,which one of ya'll posted that "backwards tampon" bit???? Haven't met too many gals that would say that!

Poodleshooter"

Monkeyleg, all MustangSally did was to call the Million Moms a bunch of "backwards inserting tampon" dummies for believing what they did about gun control being effective. (paraphrased).

It was funny though. ;-)

Here's what you've said so far:

Allison, Mass. says:

There are enough gun laws on the books. No one seems no notice when kids get killed by things other than guns. Guns are tools. To say that guns kill kids is like saying cars kill kids. There is one common denominator in all of our problems. People. If we enforced the laws and acted responsibly maybe things would get better. I would also like to see the names of the 13 kids that were killed every day by handguns. They can print all the statistics they want but I don't buy this one...

I just let a lady friend use my puter to look at the site and vote. The numbers are still barely in our favour.

Sweepin the streets for more to get in on this one.

nralife.... MonkeyLeg....

It wasn't MY post! I would NEVER post something so crude and rude. It puts the pro-gun side in a bad light.

Besides, I didn't use my TFL name. I used my real name, Susan. I did see someone from Charlotte, NC posting as Mustang Sally. Perhaps that's where you saw the comment that you're referring to.

My apologies to MustangSally!

Someone has been imposterposting her over at the poll site. Either that, or their are two MustangSallys. Anyway, our MS didn't make the comment about "backwards inserting tampon" million mom marchers, even though it wouldn't bother me if she did. ;-)

Joe

We need more votes...back to the top.

(ahem)

Well, Denise said:

Women must learn about guns. We must learn how store them AND use them safely, effectively, and legally. Guns are not as dangerous as cars and we train our children how to drive safely and maintain the car. So long as there are bad people who are strong, women will need what my husband calls the "equalizer". You can't rape a .38!

(flounce!)

Okay! So I ... er,... Denise didn't say "flounce". ;)

Got in touch with my feminine side and posted as a hyphenated person.
