"Million Mom March" organizer arrested on gun charge

Stevens said she believes the search warrant was obtained illegally. She said no drugs were found in her home. And as for the gun, she admits to having it in the house. But she said it belonged to her son. She didn't find it until six or seven months after he died. Not knowing what to do with it, she wrapped it up, put it in a drawer and forgot about it.

SO, she admits finding the illegal gun that belonged to HER SON and then HID IT.

WHY is not not feasible that the drugs found in her home belonged to her DEAD SON? That would have been my story if I were her.

That way, she can PLACE THE BLAME FOR EVERYTHING FOUND IN HER HOME on her now dead son. What a sterling example of 'motherhood'.

First, let me start off by saying.......

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! (Breath) HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (Breath) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...........HA!

(whew)

Now. Ahem. Oh the irony! I think she should be prosecuted TO THE FULLEST EXTENT, of the ignorant laws her very own organization has pushed for years now. Whats good for the goose you know.......

Bet now that the shoes on the other foot, those draconian laws and measures seem a little 'unfair' when they apply to HER.

Oh the sweet, sweet smell of hypocricy.......

"This is a blatant attempt to try and undermine me," she said Monday night. "... They can't solve these crimes, and I'm familiar with these individuals, so they're going after me because I socialize with all of them."

It's like my grandma ma used to say...If you lay down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

To reiterate Firstfreedom's comment...Haha!! (nelson) :D

Two birds with one stone!

What to do with this MMM founder and apparachnick

In the cold and drearly light of day, the answer to that question stands there, big as life and a couple of times as ugly, as that old saying goes.

Ms. Stevens is guilty of at least a couple of crimes under Illinois laws.

The handgun in her possession was likely not properly registered to her. She also lacked that Holy of Holies, The FOID Card.

Additionally, it looks like she is also guilty of federal charges, at the very least, possession of a firearm with destroyed, obliterated or altered serial number(s).

Fair enough, she is an adult, so let her sleep in the bed she made for herself.

Each and every possible charge should be laid against her, each prosecuted with the utmost possible force and vigor, and for anything that the lady is actually convicted of, she should get the maximim sentence, such sentences to run CONSECUTIVELY. After all musn't justice be served? Also, given her way, how would she and her "co-religionists", those who worship at the Church of The Anti Gun, view some miscreant, hardly with the milk of human kindness, I thing, and even if they felt differently, I find myself suddenly short of milk.

Perhaps she didn't want to find out what police ballistic records would reveal about her dead son's deeds?

While I see the irony in this, and don't care for her politics, it still sounds like this is the kind of tough, outspoken woman who is trying to take her neighborhood back from gang violence. I wonder if we would gloat if we actually met the woman and see what she lives with?

It just sounds like she is primarily an anti-violence campaigner.

Or have you all decided she's an activist who is also a gun-toting meth dealer?

It just sounds like she is primarily an anti-violence campaigner.
Then why on earth would she keep the very implements of violence that she demands "outlawed" in a drawer? Why on earth would she possibly keep one of the major causes of Gang Violence in her home?

"Gun-toting Meth Dealer" or "Peace Activist".....matters not to me.

I'm sorry....Annette didn't introduce and support laws that give YOU a pass based on YOUR intent. Annette introduced and supported laws that grant YOU Minimun Sentence Guidelines based on YOUR acts. May the Courts judge her according to her own public demands for Personal Responsibility.

And (to paraphrase), may her yoke rest lightly upon her shoulders. She just became a Casualty of the War she chose to wage. Live with it.

First, allow me to join in, BWAAAHHHAHHH! :D The IRONY (journalism school alert). :D

Second, oh, I found it and I forgot about it. Do you know how many times a week I saw THAT defense tried in court when I was a prosecutor? :D The jury never bought it. :p

Some people have it coming. Others are just good people that we happen to disagree with. I think there's a difference.

So Rich, you're going with the gun totin' meth dealer scenerio, or are you just glad she's being punished, one way or another, for her politics?

Not "going" with the first or "glad" about the second. I'm simply noting a bit of Karmic satisfaction that What Goes Around, Comes Around.....especially from hypocrites with intent to have it Go Around to me and mine.

This woman is not a victim. She's caught up in the exact world she's helped to create. Again, Live with it.

I guess the reason I even bothered to post on this is that, if this person wasn't on a liberal agenda, this story would receive the opposite reaction from this board. Everyone would be up in arms about the police using neferious reasons to search her home (pressure to reveal her acquaintences names), and then indicting her for a weapon she probably has nothing to do with.

Make her a 2nd amendment supporter who refuses to reveal the names of some gun club members and she'd be a martyr to the cause.

This "she got hers" attitude just seems crass and juvenile. This woman sounds like she lives the part of town where none of us would dare get out of the car. She sounds like a low income woman who is attempting to stop the gang violence in her community that already killed her son. She is neither Rosie O'Donnel or Hillary Clinton.

Mocking such a person does little to put us in good light. Michael Moore and Rosie's bodyguards: Hillarious. This is just sad.

Handy-
You're absolutely incorrect....I know no one on this Board that would take the side of someone with an illegal, SERIAL-NUMBER-ALTERED-FIREARM and DRUGS in their posession.....no matter what the excuse.

We'd seldom comment at all on accused common criminals. The fact that she was a "Champion" of jailing people for MUCH MORE INNOCENT OFFENSES, simply causes us to type a few words of just desserts.

Go now....no way you're gonna win this one.

Actually she sounds like a hypocrite, plain and simple.

You know there are instances of people 'championing' a cause, only for the political power, media attention, money, and the perverse sort of fame that comes with it. All the while doing exactly the opposite of what they preach so hard to the great unwashed masses......this feels like one of those cases.

Actually, from feedback I got fom people I know in Springfield, she is a part of the gang violence. The community sees her as the one who got her son into the gangs. They believe she is a gun-toting, meth abusing, drug dealing gangster. Flirty may need a change of venue to find herself a unbiased jury pool.
