Thank you all for the thoughful replies. I think many of you are making an excellent point. We likely will never be able to convince the "hard core" anti-gunners (e.g., Brady types); however, we might convince the middle-of-the-road folks who simply vote or feel a certain way because a) they have been raised that way, or b) they belong to a liberal group/party who espouse anti-gun sentiment. I too have convinced many of my anti-gun friends/co-workers. Once you provide them with the facts and make a lucid argument, they tend to see your side. They may not go out and buy a gun...but many of my friends have after talking!
By the by, this seems like a VERY important topic. It is interesting to see the many approaches we all have to accomplish the same goal.
