Military Call-up for Oct 15.

Gary, I saw this today also -- exactly one day after I predicted something like this would happen.

When Slick feel threatened by forces he doesn't know how to control, he bombs somebody. Hope the Iraqis and Iranians and the Taliban keep that in mind now through Election Day.
 
With the caveat that, like Satanta, I've been preparing for "something" since the mid-60's... as much a hobby or "avocation" as a necessity; but I do remember an announcement sent out by.. shoot, I can't remember the name of the group, but it's the gun group (not the NRA) that sends out announcements of bills with anti-gun components.

That announcement suggested Clinton might arbitrarily announce a ban on, and confiscation of, guns.., during the period right around the election. Since Clinton's a lame duck, you never know.

I can hardly stand to look at the guy, anymore.., but I have learned he seems to think he can get away with *anything*.
 
OK, let them start a freaking war, and when
it is all over, let it be known that all the members of congress, senate and the exucutive branch will be hunted down and prosecuted for treason to the fullest extent of the law.

Number 25 what? Executive Order #25???? That would have been issued sometime around the administration of John Adams or Thomas Jefferson.

Public Law #25? That would date back to before the civil war.

Why on earth would they want a bunch of field grade officers? Bunch of chiefs, how about the Indians...

Maybe send them to mob bases and give them a bunch of mandatory briefings and their complimentary Anthrax shot.

Did I hear today that we started bombing Iraq again? Also, reno gets control over what? FEMA and other agencies in October...bout the same time that this 'call up' is dated?

I'll just keep on keeping on...it don't happen and I get to live into my mid-40's, great. But I aint gonna close my eyes just in case. :)

If . . .IF anything's going to happen, I just remember something my father said recently, relating to gun control and which I think is applicable here:

"If something like that [insert martial law conspiracy] happens, then all hell's going to break loose. No way folks are going to put up with that."

Yup, sounds about right.

No reason, though, not to forego preparedness, but panic would become counterproductive. And, yes, the bug-out kit is always on stand-by.

As to all the theories about something happening it aint if, but When.
Just read a little history, it happens time and time again.
The majority of this country is very complacent with where the state is headed and wont realize something is amiss until its too late. Preparation never hurt anyone I know, just sounds like a little self responsibility for the most part.
 
I'm a retired field grade, too.

Let's see:

Uh-oh! Can't fit into my uniform anymore... Maybe my flight suit -- erg! -- ugh! -- oomph! -- well, made it!... but ... I can't move my arms! Honey, help me get out of this thing, will you...!?

Whew! OK. I'll report in sweats ...

Now, where's my old NATOPS manual? Here it is. Oh. No good. They're flying the P-3C now, and I've never flown that model. Well, how tough could it be? Wheel back, houses smaller; wheel forward, houses bigger...
well, maybe they can use me on the ground ...

Let's see -- at this point I have a total of
31 years in, counting my Retired List time ... that's about $ 90K a year for me to sit quietly and not touch anything ...
