Messing with the quarter bores again...

GOV... I have 4 actions, several rifle / carbine length barrels & stock sets, as well as many custom one off barrels in that group...

JAMES... yes, any of my actions can be set up as a carbine, or any length of handgun barrel... the pistol grip attaches the same as the carbine stocks... so you could in theory, have just one action, & set up from rifle to one of the custom shortie pistol barrels in calibers from 45 -70 to 22 LR...

the Encores can handle pretty much any rifle cartridge & function the same, but have a heavier pivot pin, & more meat in those areas of the frame...

both guns have a pivot pin, that is held in place by the fore end, 1 - 2 screws & it lifts off, the pin pushes out, & the barrel is easily changed...

MHBLAW... I have some AA #7 coming to try... I'm thinking I'll be using the #5 for the little case of the 25 ACP, & the #7 for the bigger cased 257 ???

Magnum! That's pretty cool. How did you make the .25 ACP? Am I correct in saying that you needed to alter both the cylinder and the barrel? Who did the work?

What was the parent gun? A .22 LR or .22 WMR?

I don't know why but I just love odd ball and custom guns. Thank you for sharing!

Magnum Wheel Man,
Yes I like that revolver and I like the way you put things on the wall.

I experimented with how much power I can get from 25acp.
The limit is the extractor groove expanding.
The best I can do is with 50 gr FMJ and Power Pistol.
I don't have chrono data but I know that the Power Pistol load with safety margin is recoiling harder than Bullseye or AA#5 or HS-6 or 800X.

Very cool MWM

I was chatting with a friend about 25 acp just last week. He said he was trying to reload it as a replacement for 22LR when 22LR was unavailable. Said it was a real pain as his powder measure wouldn't accurately drop a proper charge for 25 acp and he had charge each by hand.

LOAF... the 25 ACP started out as a Basic 357 Magnum... the 257 started out as a Single 10 in 22 LR... & yes, both have custom cylinders & barrels, & one of my buddies a retired tool & die guy did the machine work for me

CLARK... your info is always informative... I may have to look at Power Pistol as well

DROBS... the AA#5 ( I don't think there is printed load data for this powder ) was recommended by my buddy for the revolver, but I think there are AA#2 printed loads available for the cartridge in semi auto form... but both are fine ball powders & I'm getting very consistant powder charges using my RCBS Lil Dandy measure... & loading both cartridges has proved quite easy, once brass prep work is done... I use only one brand of brass, & sort by length ( I've found .015" of overall length difference on the once fired Remington brass I've been using, & 3 different flash hole sizes, which I've been uniforming on the 25 ACP, because the case is so small, I find it makes a difference on the tiny cartridge... on the lengths, I cull the shortest & longest, then I sort 2 lengths, that have a .003" length range I find I get great "box" accuracy by assuring each in the box is within .003" in length... there is not much to do the 2nd time around on reloading, as the cases aren't stretching much at the levels I've been loading...
