Mental exercise. Least number of guns, highest number of ammo options.

And how is it that nobody's mentioned the venerable 12ga shotgun? There are so many different loadings you can shoot through a 12ga chambered for 3" magnums that it isn't even funny. Everything from slugs and shot to beanbags and tasers. 12ga flares are pretty handy little things, too. I think you'd have a hard time beating that for ammo choices unless you're gonna invent yourself one of these... :P

Once again, multiple loadings in the same length shell don't really constitute "different" cartridges being able to cycle through one gun.

Quackenbush rifles... Combination Air & rimfire! .22 BB cap, .22 CB cap, .22 short, .22 long, .22 long shot, (Some were too early for L.R.) lead bb shot, steel bb shot, steel/featherd darts. Cool guns!

Do Drillings count? I know there's a "no switching barrels" rule, but you technically wouldn't be switching anything... It already has three barrels...

Maybe a 9.3x74R by 9.3x74R over 12ga?
Or a 20ga by 20ga over 30/06?
Then you have the available barrel inserts for the 12ga & 20ga barrels... I know the "no barrel switch" rule is in effect, but I'd be using the same barrel...

I think the Drillings take the cake on that one...

With the barrel inserts, here's the available calibers:
.22 Hornet
.222 Rem.
5.6x50R Mag.
5.6x52R Savage,
6x70R,
6.5x57R,
7x57R,
7x65R,
.30R Blaser,
8x57JRS,
8x75RS,
.308 Win.,
.30-06,
9.3x74R

If you have unlimited funds, and buy two of all the available barrel inserts for your 20ga by 20ga over .30/06, then you're looking at roughly 250 different configuration options...

The Blackhawk can shoot 357, 38 and 9mm with the optional Factory cylinder.

I like these games using only factory parts/conversions.

Well technically the blackhawk isn't a barrel switch, it's a chamber switch. Of course that brings in the ruger blackhawk .45 convertible and the .22 mag/22 convertable revolvers. The 10mm revolvers can fire .40 through them as well, I believe.

Wow! I learned a lot from this thread!

I knew the basic calibers that could be shot through the same gun but not all of these obscure ones.

Good times.
