Measuring trigger pull

Nope, there are plenty of heavy DA revolver triggers out there.

For instance, do you realize that the Colt factory spec for the Python included a maximum DA trigger pull of 12 pounds?

Fwiw, the SA specs were 2.5 to 4.5#.
 
Yep, use the water weight method documented hereabouts. I used it to get my target rifle down to 1.5 lbs., and didn't spend a dime.
 
Ditto on the digital fish scale. Been using mine for this for a long time...

If you're really serious about accuracy with your Mosin, consider adding a Timney trigger.
Not cheap at $100, and requires a lot of inletting work, but it gives you a match grade trigger AND a traditional safety. Well worth the $$ in my book.
