MD fall out: no more Glocks!

I've sponsored some. I think I'm going to sign my uncle up.

Folks need to spread the word. My office of 8 MIS folks has 4 NRA members. I got one to join, my boss got the other to join. I went out and ordered 4 NRA mouse pads. I'm not ashamed and it has helped. One guy just joined 3 weeks ago for a 3 yr membership.

Help in the campaigns. Contact the NRA EVC (Election Volunteer Coordinator) at www.nraila.org

Kimber huh? Looking at those myself. Which one?

Also, I signed up for free web email at www.keepandbeararms.com My address is madison46@keepandbeararms I use it whenever I can. It is great PR for the gun-rights cause. They also just started an ISP service. Drop earthlink et al and sign up with them.

I'm trying to find a long distance company that works with 2nd Amend crowd if anybody knows of one.

Shin-Tao, don't let them get you down. I agree with you. Let's see, this weekend I cancelled my AOL subscription, called Wal-Mart to encourage them to leave guns and ammo on their shelves, filled out my TAG ballot for the NRA, bought a new Kimber .45, and bought a 2 year membership in the NRA for my father-in-law's birthday present.

People, don't gripe. Get Involved. Now, before it's too late.

"[Even if there would be] few tears shed if and when the Second Amendment is held to guarantee nothing more than the state National Guard, this would simply show that the Founders were right when they feared that some future generation might wish to abandon liberties that they considered essential, and so sought to protect those liberties in a Bill of Rights. We may tolerate the abridgement of property rights and the elimination of a right to bear arms; but we should not pretend that these are not reductions of rights." -- Justice Scalia 1998

No controversy here:
"Do nothing=part of problem; Do ANYTHING=part of solution"

Controvery here:
"If you do nothing, I think you suck."

Agree with this:
"Who cares what I think anyway? Just go write some letters and send some e-mails. Donate to some RKBA groups. Make some calls. Don't go quietly into the night."

and this:

"If you join the NRA or GOA - fine. One good thing would be to sponsor (aka pay) for another person and sign them up... during the political season, VOLUNTEER !!! 20hrs is a great help to an organization... Got email?? Get an email list going where you send them updates or info. If you get info off of TFL, then pass along to those that don't look."

I obviously cannot speak for other posters, but my primary objection was/is to the tone of the message, not the message. In my experience I've see more positive response to exhorting, encouraging, leading by example than I have ad hominum attacks.

have you seen the letters to the editor in Dillons Blue press this month?

a bunch of people were pissed at the "If you are not involved you SUCK" editorial

several said they don't want the catalog any more

the majority that were printed supported the "you suck" attitude

Madison46, I just picked up a Kimber Pro-Carry Stainless Limited Edition on Saturday. I LOVE THIS GUN! It outshoots my Wilson Protector, no Joke. Wasn't expecting such a soft shooting and accurate compact .45. I had five guns just alike to pick from at my dealer, and picked one with a honey of a trigger, under 4lbs, breaks like a glass rod. This one's a keeper.

I was looking at that one as well. Between it and the stainless. Stainless is heavier, which is how I lean since I want to lessen the recoil. How is the recoil on yours?? It is a nice looking piece and I WANT that trigger pull!

tl:
My tone is one of enthusiasim. I found a lot of people want to help but don't know how or what to do. A lot of campaigns ask for 20 hrs for phone banks or precinct walking.

MADISON46--Support GOA Via Pro-gun LifeLine Long Distance

Your Long Distance Calls Could Help Protect Our Second Amendment Rights
The big three long distance telephone companies ALL support gun grabbing politicians. Here is a list of some of the anti-gunners they have supported in recent years as taken from Federal Election Commission records.

AT&T: Senators Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Charles Schumer (D-NY) Carol Mosley Braun (D-IL), Chris Dodd (D-CT), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Russ Feingold (D-WI), Tom Harkin (D-IA), Herb Kohl (D-WI), Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ), Barbara Mikulski (D-MD), Patty Murray (D-WA), Chuck Robb (D-VA), John D. Rockefeller (D-WV), Paul Sarbanes (D-MD), and Arlen Specter (R-PA). A host of anti-gun Representatives also received contributions.

MCI: Senators Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Carol Moseley Braun, Dick Durbin, Tom Harkin, Carl Levin (D-MI), Barbara Mikulski, Chuck Robb, John D. Rockefeller and Bill Weld. Representatives Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), Eliot Engel (D-NY), Maurice Hinchey (D-NY) and Edolphus Towns (D-NY) were among the many House anti-gunners.

Sprint: Senators Barbara Boxer, Dick Durbin, Dianne Feinstein, Tom Harkin, and John D. Rockefeller. Representatives: Kevin Brady (R-TX), Tom Campbell (R-CA), Ron Dellums (D-CA) were among the many anti-gunners in the House being helped by Sprint.

LifeLine: This long distance carrier gives to NO gun grabbers. LifeLine is a conservative, pro-gun company that gives ten percent of your long distance bill to GOA.

No matter what long distance company you use, your money will be at work in the gun control debate. The question you must answer is, "On which side of the debate will your money be used?"

LifeLine's rates are less than AT&T's standard tariff rates -- as low as 4.9 cents per minute. Do yourself a favor -- and help GOA at the same time -- by switching your long distance to LifeLine. By having LifeLine contribute to GOA's overhead for you, your regular donations are freed up to go for GOA lobbying even more than before.

For information, or to sign up, just click Here or call 1-800-311-2811.

It was hard for me to say this but theyll also donate to the NRA instead if you choose and help guncontrol get enforced.
Ther is also a company called marathon who donates (long distance) to the pro-gun lobby of your choice but Ill have to get their number later to list it.Ill be shocked if Bluesman doesnt get it before then.
Keepandbeararms.org is one of the groups that
blasted the NRA's project exile and the many gunlaws it may lead to be regularyly enforced even on a state and city level Im glad your supporting them I plan to become a member this weekend and when they get the ISP
going join with them Im currently with AOHEll.
Im sure they wont be charging more than $25. which is basically what aol is.
Now we just need pro-gun cable TV, cannot get my wife to let go of the timewarner and dont start on who the support shes a little deaf to politics Im thanking god that Ive gotten her to where she can handle a gun at all.
I agree with the stance that Glock may wind up giving the glock owners and gunowners in general a wake up call in that state I havent heard of any pro-gun marches in MD havent heard of any record numbers joining their state lobby so whats that tell us.
Also if they submit to this list of 'gunsafey' measures that means glock would have to submit to the next list and many of us realize thats just another avenue of guncontrol not to mention attempts to make the guns less reliable and more exspensive.
Also if these are 'safety' measure or claimed to be and glock agree's to them
who are they agreeing has been the cause of any real guncrimes in MD the criminals intentionally misusing them or lawabiding customers of their's who simply arent safe and need the state's help.
Just a few thoughts'
and on the kimber.45 I shot the baby glock 30 last week and was impressed with it recoil wasnt noticably worse than my colt commandeer accurate as anything Ive shot at 20 feet (despite what guntest said about them as a result of the recoil) and through 30 rounds didnt falter.
I was only trying the gun out from a fellow shooter at the ranger I dont own one yet but certainly wont try another paraordinace p-10 in .45 that literally jammed every other round and the rear sight flew off after the second shooting.
But love my p-13 so odd..
Oh and pherphaps this MD problem should come as a question to all of us 'Are we a member of our state lobby?'
MS has never had any real pro-gun state lobby and they now have a liberal democrat
for their governer.
And if hell tell them to change their flag
Im sure hell sign in some gunlaws.

ruger45,

Keepandbeararms.com has their web ISP up and running according to the website. They have a place you can go and check for local access numbers. The rate is $19.95.

I would sign up, but I've got DSL. If they start offering DSL, I'll be signed up.

I plan on signing up for the phone service once I compare it to what my wife signed us up with under a Sprint/USAA deal. Thank you very much for the info.

This is not compromise. It's something far worse.

Madison46, I really like the stainless steel frame. The steel frame, coupled with the big coned barrel really reduces recoil. I'm not kidding, this gun has LESS felt recoil than my 5" government size Wilson Combat Protector! It is a great pistol. Get the all stainless steel ProCarry. If it's anything like mine, you'll not regret it.

I didn't mean to convey a defensive posture personally. I value people who carry their weight in anything. There are many here who go above and beyond the call. I constantly evaluate the level of my personal commitment.

I was quite honest in my curiosity. Let's say you have just converted a fresh, enthusiastic shooter who leans toward personal liberty and responsibility. What package of addresses, membership forms, info sources(like here), and responsibility to the cause should be the "bread and butter" of any gun owner that YOU would provide. The pure basics for admittance to the lower choir? :)

Glock. EAA & Browning will no longer sell handguns in Maryland!

Wow! I've been using sprint for years. Now I'm mad. Tomorrow morning, I'm switching to lifeline. Seem's like the right thing to do. This week has really got my ire up again. I upgraded to the life NRA membership (not because I approve of their actions, but I want to vote in their elections), and now I'm switching long-distance carriers. What else?

Oh, and by the way, I love Browning, Glock and Beretta. These are the premier take no sh** gun manufacturers. What is crazy is that two of the three are recent imports from foriegn lands, yet they support our native rights better than companies like Ruger and Colt. I guess I could use a Glock after all. I just wish they made high-quality .22 rifles. I think I'd rather enjoy purchasing a fine Beretta or Glock .22 rifle if they were to appear on the market place. Hard to beat a 10/22 though.

westtexas,

Is this the one you got? - http://www.kimberamerica.com/

I'm looking at the one pictured and the all stainless.

Thanks for you input. I would put this on the other forum, but you seem to have purchased and fired the very thing I'm look at and debating with myself about.

Is there a special tool to break the Kimber down? Any problems cleaning?

Many thanks !
