Maximizing effectiveness of .22/.25/.32 an dother mousy calibers

Glenn - I agree that the eye socket is a tough shot. I usually draw the line at .38 Special, but I have had times when my .25 was the gun or no gun. I am lucky that my choice of .25s was inadverdantly a great one. I have one of the Beretta SA 950s. (I think that's the right model number) I postulate that any shooting will be more of a matter of unloading the gun into the bad guys face - hense I like to practice shooting for the eyes.

BTW - some of the smaller .25/.32s will amaze you with their accuracy potential. I "inherited" a Raven that shoots very well.

However, after shooting a hardback book with my .25, I became a firm subscriber to the .38 and up school of thought.

Went to pick up and shoot my new toy. a 22 FEG which looks like a PPK. Shot at some metal plate targets. couldn't knock them down from 30 or 40 feet. certainly bounced those plates back a half inch or so before they righted themselves. It saved me from having to holster then reach for the rope which pulls the plates back up. the 22 made a nice little sound like wind chimes as it would strike the face of the plates.
