Marlin 336Y Compact

Sometimes called a Spike Horn or a Youth Model this 12.5" LOP 16.25" barrel 336 in .30-30 is close to lever gun perfection.

I topped it with an XS Lever Scout mount and a Bushnell TRS 25 red dot sight and feed it Remington Core Lokt 170 gr ammo.

I'm still breaking it in but so far so good.

Though I have no practical use for one, I do want one .....

Just curious, willow- what velocity are you getting out of that short barrel?

I have one of the 16" LTS models made in 1988. I got 1972 fsp with 170 gr Winchester Power Points, 2182 fps with 150's. Just for reference I got 2003 fps and 2214 fps with the same ammo from a 20" gun.
