Comparing your Blaser to a Marlin 336 is about like comparing a Ford F-150 and a high end Mercedes.
My first centerfire rifle was a Marlin 336 I bought with my G.I. Bill money in 1975. It was never hard to cycle and once I really learned how to use it, I loved it! I also took up reloading then. These rifles are very simple to take down, almost idiot proof.
I put a moderate scope on it , K-6 Weaver, and with good handloads, I was able to put 7 shots in 8" target, offhand as fast as I could cycle the action, at 100 yds. The only time I fired from a bench, a card table, and a folding chair, was to zero the scope.
I hunted with it a couple of times, but mainly it was a fun gun.
The 336 I bought in 1975, was a nice version, decent walnut, gold plated trigger and hammer extension. I can't comment on their quality lately.
If yours is that hard to cycle, I would cycle it a bunch, to see if it will work in. If that doesn't help, I would contact Marlin, in my time they were very helpful, with advice on even non quality issues, scope mounting, zeroing suggestions, ect.
A Blaser, Wow! I want one! I have a couple of Weatherbys and Coopers. I have admired them but never held or fired one. I think I'm going to tell my wife I want one for my birthday.
I hope your Marlin gets around to being fun to use.
