Man in Arkansas arrested for aggravated assault

Better know your local laws before defending your home and be willing to except the reprocusions. In North Carolina if an intruder/s is found, you are obligated to allow them to escape and can only use deadly force if intruder attacks with weapon. In South Carolina where I live any one found in your home unlawfully is fair game. But trapping your home is illeagle in both states. Better to get an alarm system. Like say a dog.

Defending one's home by force does not include booby traps. If anyone knows of a state that permits it, please post.

Translation: They can help themselves to whatever they please and get away before the police get there and all you can do is stand by their side with your gun saying "you'd better not attack me with a weapon."
This means they can finish opening your safe and get your money, load up their truck or car (or yours!) with whatever they can grab and you can't stop them. All you can do is warn them that the police are on their way. They will thank you for the tip and hurry up their theft operation and leave.

What birdbrain politicians made up these moronic self righteous laws that say you can't protect your property?

Doug; I'd suggest that you read NC's law for yourself, rather than accepting the "brief interpretation" posted in this thread.
