major mini-14 problem

Thanks for the pics

Another vote for oil and tapping it out.

If you buy cheap (or poorly reloaded ammo) and the gun doesn't work, don't blame the gun, blame the ammo. To his credit, Chris didn't blame the gun.

this is fairly obvious but i just wanted to point out you should remove or at least obstruct anything that could nail the primer if you're putting a lot of elbow grease into ramming it out. i don't think it needs to be said, but better safe than sorry. just popped in my head.

If you poured liquid wrench down the barrel, you might as well use the hydraulic method: Put oil in the barrel, fit a tight patch on a rod and tap on the end of the rod. Hydraulic pressure will force out anything in the bore. Works better than beating on a live round.

well i tried the whole liquid wrench thing, and no luck still...though the bullet was tapped back into the casing, i know this because i found gunpowder dripping out of my barrel...soooo i think the round is pretty dead. i've exhausted pretty much all of my options...there is a gunsmith not too far from here that is the father of one of my teachers so i guess i'll give him a call. i cant think of much else one can do. thanks again for all the help :)

i took it to another gunsmith friend of mine and after about a half an hour he tapped it out (half the time was spent socializing and what not) but yeah no damage to the gun, shoots great, thanks for the help :)

Ever done this?

Hi Guys,

I am new to the forum, I can tell there are alot of smart people here, its nice to have a place to ask questions, and that of people who care about our freedom.
Have any of you ever gotten a patch stuck, I have, this thing with the stuck case makes me remember that not to long ago, I made a patch to tight and it got really really stuck in the barrel, I used a cleaning rod and my palm to bash it out. I hope im not the only one. LOL :) :)

In gunsmithing, we'd say, "Use a bigger hammer." Sounds like the gunsmith did just that (or struck it harder) to get the stuck case out.
