Magpul Announces Move

I see moving the production to Wyoming, as that is closer and reduces downtime, but I don't see the beauty of moving the corporate offices to Texas unless they have family down there. It's not like Wyoming is going to pass any silly gun legislation either. Is the corporate tax rate less in Texas?
Moreover, there's no elk in Texas. that right there would keep me in the rockies.

Doofus47, have you spent much time in Cheyenne? NOAA ranks us the 8th windiest city in the country.

Right now it's 50 outside with a 30mph wind, going to drop into the teens tonight with snow. Not quite a 50/50 day yet, but from the wind noise outside right now it's working up to it.

About the same temp in Dallas, without the wind. So you could still play a round of golf in Dallas today with a light jacket or sweater. I can certainly understand a bunch of executives choosing Dallas over Cheyenne.

Wymark,
I hear you, but I used to live in Texas and it's pretty darn windy down there also.
But there's still no elk.

Good on magpul. I've read people calling them out because they hadn't moved yet(to be fair, moving a company that big takes time). Nice to see they are a company of their word.

Good move

Really pleased to know Magpul held on to its promise and delivered. I'll be sure to get more of their products in the future!

Living here in Co has it's moments and challenges.

It's seems kind of strange that Magpul choice of locations for their Corp office are in different location given that Wy package can be up to 13 million that includes loans.

Magpul did what they said they were going to do if the bill was signed into law and been lot of changes for them past couple years given that Magpul in 2011 owner sold 51% of his company to an investment firm.

I'd hate to think their using magazine ban as an excuse to a long range goal already in the works. Magpul Corp offices in Texas, investment firm in NY easy to fly into Dallas/Ft. Worth got to wonder.

I am glad they did what they said they were going to do and moved. But I do not think the tax revenue lost, nor the jobs with it, will have much impact on the economy.

They will find something new to tax.
