I don't know about the 45-70 or 444 Marlin, but I highly recommend the 475 Linebaugh. It was my Holy Grail of handguns a few years ago but it has become my favorite one to shoot. I also have one in 454 Casull and 500 S&W Magnum. The 475 is still my favorite though. Factory ammo is not cheap (Hornady is about $25/20 rounds around here, Buffalo Bore is about $110/50 rounds on their website), but it is not something I intend to shoot frequently. The gun is extremely powerful but recoils about the same as the 454 Casull in the same barrel length with similarly heavy loads (420 gr for Linebaugh, 360 Gr for the Casull both Buffalo Bore). It is very accurate and has held up very well so far. If I lived out instead of the suburbs, it would be my bed side gun.
