I've used the Magnetospeed on several rifles and must have gotten lucky, if there's any change in group size it's been for the better.

This has been my experience as well. Usually a slight change in POI and often a slightly tighter group. But as Wendy has said, it’s just for checking MV and works well for this.

I conserve ammo and try to shoot for groups and SD improvement at the same time. My groups are sub 1/2 MOA mostly and the SD with range pickup is usually around 10, some 4 and 5. My procedures have greatly changed since my first Chrony gave me readings iike 30 or 40. Learning from the SD is like learning group size without the shooter being a factor.
