Magazine failures

"...that don't like my SWC bullets..." Isn't the mag. It's the back end of the chamber. Chamfer the feed ramp about half way up the sides and open the mag lips a wee, tiny, bit with fine, needle nosed, pliers.
There's absolutely no need to change mag springs annually. Springs do not lose temper from being compressed, ever. Extensive use might work harden the bends of a flat spring like a mag spring, but it will not take out the temper.

FWIW - I was shooting north of 10k rounds per year and we had all the parts at work to use so it seemed like a good idea. I have had and have seen a few magazine failures, nearly all were "lips" or ammo related and only one broken spring. (A USP).

Other than cheap, knock-off mags -- where almost anything could fail --the only mag failures I've experienced are springs that lose their strength, leading to feed failures, etc. I've never seen a broken coil spring in a magazine (but have seen them in auto suspensions.)

Some new mags seem to be an issue. Pro-Mags, which have a terrible reputation and seem to be like that. If you make the mistake and buy a Pro-Mag for a full-size CZ, the springs seem to have a short life -- replacing them with Wolff springs seems to solve the problem. (Their mags for the CZ compact pistols, on the other hand, seem to run trouble-free for long periods.)
