M&P 15-22

my 15-22 has a fastened ,completely closed stock (Magpul MOE) and a real small optic (flip down MBUS and an Aimpoint Micro) so its real a small , light weapon and completely into CQB.. I love a Single point sling and love the Magpul MS2, love it even more for my 15-22 than I do for my 5.56 AR.

Others may differ, and I probably wouldn't do a single point for a heavy, designated marksman rifle AR like the Mk12/ SPR. But for the 15-22 its so perfect. I would LOOOOOVE the 15-22 Pistol to go along with it, especially with the single point sling.

What's the updated blue spring for? I have to send mine back. It is currently shooting full auto. As much fun as it seems, I don't want to take a risk of an out of battery detonation. Does anyone know what the likelyhood is of firing out of battery?

I love mine, only problem is I have a hard time leaving it one configuration for any length of time haha. I probably have around 4-5000 rounds through mine to at this point and can't recall ever having any real problem. I do get a few ftfires with the bulk ammo but I expect that. I shoot Blazer mostly but also have cycled winchester, stinger, higher grade cci's. Will shoot a .22 short but doesn't have enough back pressure to cycle it out. Mine has the blue spring btw.

Any questions 15-22 has its own info with really detailed breakdowns of things. (not sure of the rules here about sharing sites so i'll just say google it.)

I got a MP 15-22 in a swap a few months back, with my 7 y/o in mind as he loves AR style guns. He LOVES the SW MP. It functions perfectly, is accurate and is the coolest looking "Black rifle" I have owned since the Beretta AR-70 I had back in the 80's and foolishly traded away. The collapsable stock on the MP 15-22 is neat, as I can shoot a clip with it extended, then shorten the stock for the little guy, reload and let my boy shoot.
BUY EXTRA CLIPS!!!!!! These are fun guns and with .22's, you will want to shoot ALOT.

I bought one for the wife a few years ago. It probably has close to 10,000 rounds through it to date and haven't had an issue yet.

Congrat's, enjoy your new MP 15-22 :)

Thank you Marquezj16. Very well; inexpensive, good cheekweld. Sturdy enough to use on 15-22 and AR .223. Going to test it on my AK next. :)

Sweet. I'm looking to get one for mine. I have a BSA Stealth on mine. It works great but it's very bulky. So looking for one that works and will cowitness with MBUS. I'll probably copy your set up. :)

How sturdy is that retractable bipod? I was looking at those yesterday at the gunshow. I wasn't sure if it was strong enough but it looks good there.

The M4 does co-wittness with the Magpul sights.

The bipod works just fine; it's a light rifle with very little recoil. I've also used it on .223. This is one is a knockoff I purchased on Ebay a few years ago for $10. It has polymer legs, but is very durable. The OE version used to run about $100, and I believe has metal legs or polymer legs reniforced with metal inserts.

What does the barrel shroud do besides make it look BADA$$

It hides that skinny .22LR barrel. :)

Bought my 15-22 in July. I have put well over 5,000 rounds through it ... maybe closer to 10K. 500 at the range today!

When I get in a hurry loading the mags, I seem to have misfeeds. But whatever I feed it, it seems to do just fine ... mostly Wal-Mart Winchester and Federal bulk packs.

All I've done to mine was install a carry handle.

I kept the cardboard sleeve that came on it that says "Kickin' Brass" ... hangs on my bulletin board.

My only complaint is this thing is freaking hard to clean. There are so many knooks and crannys ... I can spend a couple hours detailing it and STILL find residue.
