Lookng for another semi auto pistol....

Another vote for a 1911.

It is without a doubt an iconic handgun that you need to experience.

Think of all those soldiers, sailors and marines that used the 1911 to good effect in the service of their country for over seventy years. Think of all effort John Moses Browning put in to developing the gun. Think of all the smart alecks that keep recommending them that you'll be able to shut up.

A full size 5" barrel version will not beat you up. It's got a goodly recoil but it is not excessive.

That deal by Krimmie in a previous post is certainly VERY attractive even without the rebate. With the rebate I almost wish I was in the market for another 1911.

Good luck.

Try out some .380s as well. I normally pack a .357 magnum for my concealed carry, but I really enjoy the heck out of shooting my wife's Sig P238 and I'm looking into getting a .380 for myself for a quick pocket gun when I don't feel like putting on a holster.

Get the 1911!

You need a 1911, and you'll handle it just fine. If you can shoot a .40, you can easily shoot the .45 ACP in a full sized 1911. Check out the Kimber Custom Classic, a Colt government model, a Ruger, or a S&W. Wait for a sale. Your collection could use a hammer fired single action pistol IMHO.
