A friend of mine is looking for a 1847 walker colt for her husband, i suggested cabelas to her , i know that they have them for around $300.00.Anybody know of any other place that might have them? Any help would be great ,thanks.

Got my Uberti Walker from Dixie Gun Works. Get their hardcopy catalog if you want a real feast for your eyes. Otherwise just go to their web site.

I love my walker has treated me better then my 1860 army colt. havent put 60s behind a ball yet. Kinda scaired to.

Uberti for a new Walker, 2nd gen Colt for the best Walker. 3rd gens are nice, ASM can be found used. Any of them may/well need work out of the box.

Walker Manufacturers

You actually only have one choice if your are looking for a new Walker. Uberti is the only manufacturer of the 1847 Walker left in the business. New in Box Colt 2nd & 3rd Generation 1847 Walkers are available but are now in the $900+ range. Since the beginning of the Replica Revolver industry the only manufacturers of the 1847 Walker were first Armi San Marco then Uberti. Colt then reintroduced the Walker in their 2nd & 3rd Generation series.

I also have a .44 1847 Walker (Uberti) I will sell. It has the R & D .45LC conversion cylinder and original cylinder, and leather holster/belt. I've only fired about 50 rds through the conversion and never fired BP in the original. Will have to sell the two components seperately. One price...but two shipments to keep it legal.

PM me if serious.
$650 for everything...US Money Order only.

how is it the original brand makes repros? wouldn't they be considered new production?

They are not really replicas. The 2nd gen Colt was made and marketed by Colt. They used raw barrel and cylinders supplied by Uberti, other parts made in the USA. The 3rd gens used the same parts arrangement with Uberti, but they were made by Colt Blackpowder Arms Co under license from Colt manufacturing Co. The 2nd gens are considered true Colts, the 3rd gens are still being debated. The are basically the same revolvers with a different appearance, bluing, wood, and in some cases fit and finish.

Mine is still available.Pm me if interestd in whole cowboy set up. Very fair price, excellent condition.less than 100 rounds through it.

Continuation would probably be the correct term. 2nd Gen serial numbers started out where the originals left off; and the Sig Series started somewhere higher than where the 2nd Gens left off.

As far as being true Colts; for the most part, 2nd Gens were finished, assembled, inspected, marketed, sold and warranted by Colt. Colt had nothing to do with the manufacture of the Sig series guns other than granting the license to use Colts name.

Our gunsmith has gone to get recertified from colt--he says that Colt is in the immediate process of producing 4th generation colt c/b revolvers--you know anything about this?

4th Generation Colt BP?????
First I've heard of this.

It would be interesting. I wonder how it effect pricing of 2nd gen and Signiture series? Technically they would become the 3rd generation Colt.

Just think of all the new revolvers you can buy.:D
