Looking for some help valuing these guns (pic heavy)

Good information. Though it may not really come across as such... I just didn't want to see someone getting shafted here, and it kind of looked like a setup.

I don't believe you took it that way, so that's good.

I'd say that it should be obvious... that we here are certainly interested to see how this develops. :)

I definitely see from the audiences point of view how this could be a set up. I appreciate you looking out for me. I will keep this thread updated as soon as I get information

If the boxes are correct for all of the guns, it would appear that all of the Smiths are from post 1965 as they all mention Bangor Punta, a holding company that purchased S&W at that time.

The style of box was changed in the early 1980s to a one piece, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if most of those guns are from the 1970s.

Made a verbal agreement with seller today, as long as everything works out we plan to ship to my FFL by friday of next week

Very cool. Keep us updated. No idea where in the country you are located, but there is a show in my area that is -PRIME- for the kind of guns you've shown in this thread. To sell, perhaps, but also simply because there are knowledgeable folks there that know these guns extremely well. (it's not your average trashy gun show)

Thanks for keeping us updated

Have you thought about an auction to sell what you need to liquidate? There is an Auctioneer In Iowa that puts on one or two scheduled gun auctions per year.
www.vandonsler.com is where to check him out. Right up front I do not know him nor am I promoting him.
It might be worth finding out what he charges and he might be able to give you some information about selling collections. Also there maybe some one like him in your area that puts on similar sales.

PS. If I had these guns coming into my possesion I would take pictures, fondle and document each just for the history and my own enjoyment. :D
