The Deed is Done
Last night I picked up a Springfield Amory 1911-A1 Loaded with the adjustable sights in Stainless. I wanted to thank everyone for their input to my project and taking the time to answer questions.
Ultimately it came down to very subjective wants, feelings, etc. combined with facts and costs. In the end, Stainless won out, because you just can’t go back and add it later. The Loaded showed the best value for the dollar in the three companies that I looked at: Colt, Kimber and SA. I found a local dealer that I hadn’t known about before that had several to look at and knowledgeable staff to assist in selection and demonstrating the value of different options (yeah, the Mil-Spec parkerized was a large temptation).
Now I just need to find that inexpensive ammo and shoot till I get comfortable!
