Looking For A New Carry Ammo

Buffalo Bore is by far the best ammo out there for SD or hunting.

If sheer velocity in a packaged product is your goal that may well be but if your into things like expansion and consistent expansion it may not be the top of the line ammo at all...

I don't think the "shootee" will have much on an opinion either way as to whether GD is better than Corbon or Corbon is better than Hydra Shok. He'll be dead, dead, dead.

When it comes to SD ammo, I don't look at cost as much as I do performance. Speer Gold Dot gets my vote.

Practice ammo may be a different story.

Duty rounds in 9x19mm, M&P sidearms/BUGs....

The topic of good carry/duty loads for the 9x19mm or 9mmNATO come up often on firearms/tactics forums.
Search this message board & you'll see many good reply posts & indepth feedback on duty 9mm ammunition.
In general, I would buy or carry these rounds in the S&W Military and Police 9mm;
the Ranger T 127gr +P+ JHP, the Speer Gold Dot 124gr JHP +P, the CorBon DPX, the Hornady TAP, the Federal EFMJ, Corbon PowRball, Glaser Safety Slug(back-up/2nd gun), MagSafe SWAT 9mm(BUG/M&P compact).

The Remington Golden Saber JHP +P 124gr(bonded) can do very well but it may be hard to find(with regular open sources/non sworn LE).
Bonded handgun rounds are suggested because of the use with common auto glass & related material. I read a article that a state LE agency in the mid south documented approx 90% of the year's use of force/line of duty shootings involved traffic stops/auto glass, plastic, metal.
To me the Federal EFMJ, Corbon PowRball, Glaser Safety Slugs or Magsafe rounds are better for the M&P compact or a small sub-compact 9x19mm. The Winchester Ranger T 124gr FMJ(9mmNATO) could work also. Smooth feeding, clean ejection & deep penetration will be needed for your BUG or spare duty pistol magazines. PowRball & Federal's EFMJ loads offer these benefits.
In closing, I'd check your duty or carry rounds often and only carry well made factory 9mm ammunition on duty; no reloads or hand loads.
Stay safe & take care;

Really the Speer Gold Dot is one of the top law enforcement lines out there.

The other main rounds I see being used are Winchester Ranger Bonded, Winchester Ranger T, and Federal HST. Pick the weight and pressure level that you shoot best. Winchester, HST, and Gold Dot will all get the job done.
