Looking for a good medium revovler

Thanks Guys for all you replies! I stumbled across the Model 64 and am kind of leaning that way....today

Good choice the 64 is one of the best in it's class. I carry one most of the time. I Changed the grips out to a pair of Houge rubber Grips. I have seven revolvers and the model 64 is my favorite.

Just my size

I have 3 S&W's the 4" 686, Great shooter, a 3" model 60 also a great shooter I did change out the grip to a fill sized pacmyer rubber grip and a 642 +p. I do carry the model 60 almost daily. the 642 is more for formal wear, dinner and the opera.

What would a good medium size revovler be with about a 4" barrel?

The midsize S&W k-frames are just right in so many ways. The 357 models handle 38spl just as well. Check out the Models 13, 19, 65, 66. They can be found at very reasonable prices in great condition on the used market. Wonderful shooters. Tough, reliable.

There are a number of reasons these were the weapon of choice for most LE agencies in the US for about half a century.

Check your local pawn shops. I picked this Colt Trooper MKIII a couple of months ago. Carried a lot and shot little as indicated from the faint line around the cylinder.

I have about a dozen older Smith revolvers, but my regular carry revolver is a Rossi 462 stainless .357 magnum. It's 2 1/2", 6 shot, and heavy, but very solid, accurate and reliable. My Smiths stay home. My Rossi goes out with me.

I have been shooting revolvers since the 1970's, and the Rossi's are really good quality at great prices.

My favorite 357 / medium frame revolver

I like my 38s, but I say get a 357, you won't regret it. Like others have said, its gotta be a 66 or maybe a 19.....my 66 is probably my favorite general use 357. Its lighter than any Colt or Ruger 357 offering. Dan Wesson's are also heavier. It does it all, with a durable composition, good balance, adj sights, great trigger. It does everything well.

I've sold a Trooper MKIII, a S&W 19-4 and a 1969 Python. Even if I had all the ones I sold, I would still pick the 66.

For me to say I like the 66 best is important, because it has really good competition for my current favorite 357. I love em all really...; )
