I heard of the LS Card in another thread.
I imagine it's a form of food stamp.
The poster said he see's illegals buying food with them all the time in Texas.
Assuming they REALLY are illegal, how are they able to get them?
Are illegals really getting welfare?
If so, how is this allowed?
What agencies are allowing this and how can it be stopped?
What the $#@&% is going on???:mad:
I never thought I would see the day when such things would even be the topic of conversation!!
I must say though, as frustrating as it all is, the situation seems to be creeping towards critical mass, with more and more people voicing opposition to the illegal situation.
At this point, my only concerns when voting will be the border, illegals and the war on terror.
I'll deal with everything else in my own way.

I was born and raised in Texas, started in Texas City and moved out west to Brady when I was 11. My mom raised me with an anti-illegal attitude even then, and this is early 70's. We saw it then, the welfare, free lunches at school, the hospitals, and the "bring her to the US to plop out a baby" thing. But one thing, the illegals that were afraid to get deported learned the friggin' language. I rarely heard one that didn't speak English to an intelligible point.

This mess of supporting illegals in any form has to stop. We tried to stop it from going on here in CA with Prop 187 and a federal court judge shot it down after it passed. We voted on it and there was nothing we could do to get it reinstated. Clearly, this is not a democracy.

I have a feeling there is going to be another Mexican-American war in the next year or so with all the hostilities happening, and you'll see my list of guns get bigger every week, month, and year. In fact, it got bigger by three this week alone, just gotta wait till they're shipped in.

I don't suppose you guys spend all day picking vegetables or doing constuction, hmm? They'll gladly take the jobs you wouldn't even consider.

I say put them on the payroll, and tax 'em like the rest of us. no free ride.

Actually, Polymer, the attitude that illegals should be a cheap source of labor to big unethical business is the most racist of them all.
 
I agree. They should at least get minimum wage.

many businesses (including Halliburton) have emplyed them at sub-minimum wages, tax-free.
 
If illegals are to be truly stopped then we must make the cost of them being hired by business prohibitive. In other words prosecution and fines. Sure the politicians have put on some dog and pony shows for the voters. They can pass all the laws they want but if they dont fully fund the enforcement of those laws they are merely fooling the voters.

The next thing to stop the flow of illegals is to shut the border down and make it more secure greatly decreasing the flow of illegals.

Until those two things are done its merely farting in a hurricane force wind.

How do you think these jobs got done before the illegals got here? Vegetables got picked and buildings got constructed. Hmmmmm...

I wouldn't mind it so much if they came here and assimilated. For the most part, they don't. Just keep waving those Mexican flags. It's an attempt to annex part of the U.S. and turn it into Upper Mexico. I see what a fine job they've done with their country. I can't wait! :rolleyes:
 
I'm not down with the browning of America I'll come out and say it. Before you know we will be a third world country if the invasion isn't stopped. But, our politicians don't have the intestinal fortitude to stop it. The President should be impeached for not protecting America from all threats foreign and domestic.

I don't think there is ANYONE that has a problem with immigration.
It's ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION that is the problem!!
And it has nothing to do with racism or anything else!

would you dare to sneak into another country, break their laws by doing so, and then refuse to speak their language?
How about go so far as to tear down that countries flag, step all over it and raise the flag of the country you came from.
Then, on top of that, DEMAND that your new country recognize you and afford you all manner of rights afforded only those that are citizens!!
How about banding together with your fellow ex-patriots and march in the streets, DEMANDING jobs, yelling, spitting and cursing at the police and threatening to overthrow that country!!
I'm sure you wouldn't dare do that, simply out of respect for that country.
That's just what America needs.
Millions of unskilled, illiterate people taxing our system in every way possible.
Free housing!
Free medical care!
Free this! Free that!!!
How many millions would you allow?
What the ^5$# do you think America would look like in 5 or 10 yrs?
And I haven't even mentioned the security factor, drugs, criminals, etc.
It's AMAZING that some people can't see past their nose on this problem!
If you want to come here and make America your home, your are certainly welcome.
But come here LEGALLY.
Learn the LANGUAGE!
And show RESPECT for OUR culture AND our FLAG!!!:mad:
 
Dasboot, would you rather have your law enforcement working on the 101 days of summer (speed enforcement) and "Click it or Ticket" or enforcement of immigration laws. The two former programs have federal funding for local law enforcement (or so I've been led to believe)....Where do you focus, as a local politician/PD/Sheriffs department, where the money is or where the perceived problem is.

At this point, my only concerns when voting will be the border, illegals and the war on terror.

I wish I could see it this way. I believe securing the border and the war on terror are definitely linked.....of course we have a problem on our northern border also, but you never here of people complaining about the "danged Canadians" coming and taking our jobs....maybe because they speak English....

Dude, I’ll do any job to feed my family and to work…..I have worked construction, and I have many “multi-ethnic” friends who have worked construction….not trying to get down on you, just be careful about your wording…..by the way I agree “ignorance has no ethnicity, color, nor creed.”


And to keep the topic firearm related.....would any of you want to get caught across either border with a handgun....

Dasboot, your last post just came up while I posted and I am digesting it....

dang brother I think you are right on target, and that is what my wife and I have argued over. legal versus illegal immigration. rights for the legal versus illegal immigrants (I refuse to use PC terms such as "undocumented"). That said i do think some people on both sides of the illegal immigration issue play the race card....bottom line for security though is if people who want to work come over illegally, what makes ANYONE think that terrorists or anyone else who wants to harm our country can't use the same tactics as illegals coming for work.....

I'm not a flag waver, but I do petition for research funding on behalf of ACS, so I am politically active. Waving a flag is just plain rediculous. It's herd mentality

Nietzsche called easily manipulated people "sheep", when he spoke of the Christians. you know, the herd mentality? I think it fits nicely with your type.

newworld, I have no problem with them mowing my lawn or picking my vegetables, because I'm not prejudiced. and I definitely hear you on taking those laborious jobs, I'd do what I needed to to put food on the table. The fact of the matter is, I have skills (in chemistry) which require analytical thinking, so I don't have to do labor-intensive jobs. Does that make me better than them? no.
but if nothing is available in my field for the time being, I'd gladly bag groceries.

as far as the "race" card... another social construct.
there's really no biological basis behind "race", per se, only environmental/adaptive.

One thing I completely agree on....if they're going to come here, they need to learn English, period.

That means the companies that hire illegals now would have to pay social security, workmens comp, ect. They dont want them on the legal payrolls. If the illegals are going to be able to work and stay they are not going to accept substandard wages anymore.

That is what some of private business does not want to happen. These are the same folks that pay lobbyists millions of bucks to keep the politicians from letting that happen.

So if we made Halliburton pay back social security and medicare taxes plus a penalty and interest, fines and the CEO and board of directors had to do some jail time. That might put a dent in the problem.

I agree that there are countless "flag wavers" that do it because it's "the thing to do" without any REAL conviction or realization of what they are doing or why.
But don't confuse TRUE love and appreciation for America with some mindless flag waving.

It's pretty ironic that you, who finds "nationalism" so distasteful would quote one of the worlds great racists and nationalists.
He was a major proponent of Teutonic supremacy.
To him, Germans were the "super race".
