live 8 - concerts

Africa needs money like I need more Makarovs. In other words, Africa doesn't need money.

Ha! I've got five Maks, but could always use more.

Mustang65 has it right as does Makarov5. The huge amount of money that has been given to Africa has created a welfare mentality destroying the will of many to work and be productive. The real leaders (not the socialist dictators) want the aid to stop. The hard working people leave and go where they can be productive and profitable.

And Live 8 was about debt forgiveness and more economic aid to Africa.

More aid to Africa? Forget it. Why continue pouring billions of dollars into a bottomless sewer?

I'm already paying more than my fair share in taxes. Last year, I paid 52 percent of my income in federal and state income taxes. Then every time I go out and spend money, I pay more. First there's 8.75% in state sales tax. Then there's gas tax, property tax, car tax (registration fees), all sorts of federal excise taxes, capital gains taxes, etc.

There there are taxes and fees built into almost everything we buy or use. Last month I made no long distance calls and yet my bill was still $9.47 with all of the 'access fees' and subsidies. Same with my water bill, garbage bill, and electric bills. Taxes upon fees upon taxes.

And now some millionaire drug addict musician wants me to give more for Africa? Screw him!
