Listen to Harry Browne

Now I finally see why some people leave this forum with nothing good to say about it.

Fine, see what good your vote for Harry Browne does for your gun rights.

Where is your logic?????
"If one vote is cast for one candidate, only ONE vote appears on the above
list! If you vote for C,

Candidate A still = 0 votes
Candidate B still = 0 votes
Candidate C now has 1 vote; A still has none!
"

Are you guys trolls or what? You all are smarter than this. I am not going any further on this issue as this is not an argument. Continue on, you are free to do so. Me, I wont waste my time here anymore. Now y'all can say witty insulting things to me in my absence.

In 1988, the first election in which I was eligible to vote, I mentioned to my friends in the Air Farce that I would be voting for Ron Paul. "NOOOOO," they screamed, "This election is CRITICAL! You're helping that democrat weasel Dukakis get elected! Be realistic!"

Well, I went ahead and voted for Paul anyway. Bush won. And we got the AW ban, and a ramped-up War On Some Drugs.

In 1992, I mentioned to my friends that I would be voting for Andre Marrou. "NOOOO," they screamed. "He can't win, so you're wasting your vote! Vote for Bush, not that hick Clinton! This election is CRITICAL!" Even after explaining the plethora of new laws and taxes, they accused me of being unrealistic, and advised me to just go with Bush, because after all, Clinton would be worse.

I went ahead and voted for Marrou. And Clinton won. Why? Because of all the idiots who voted for him for his winning smile and aw-shucks Jimmy Stewart demeanor. Not to mention the fact that Bush had pissed off a lot of people with the "read my lips" debacle.

In 1996, I voted for Harry Browne. "NOOOO," screamed my friends, "Unrealistic people like you gave Clinton the last election! Do you want to see him in office for *another* four years?! This election is CRITICAL!" "OK," I said, "Show me who the GOP has to run against Der Slickmeister."

Bob Dole. Good f***ing show, guys. A grouchy old fart who refers to himself in the third person. Yeah, he had a real chance, didn't he?

So anyway, and obviously, Clinton won, since you guys couldn't come up with a decent candidate and wouldn't back someone who could have soundly kicked Clinton's butt, given that support.

The only people to blame for electing Clinton are the people who voted for him. In a multiple-candidate or multiple-issue race, you don't vote against someone or something; that only works in an "either/or" contest.

IF the GOP could dig up someone who actually believes in America and the Constitution, AND doesn't think the BoR is so much bungwipe, AND looks good to Joe Sixpack, then I'd vote for him. However, the GOP excels at fielding complete dorks in major races.

No thanks. I'll vote Libertarian in November. FWIW, I believe Junior will win, and I seriously doubt that he'll say "Hey, I was just kidding about all that magazine ban and assault weapons stuff, and about how there ought to be limits to freedom."

KawKLR, you missed me a mile, I am an American and see the truth. The truth, members of the democrat and republican parties have for at least 70-80 years dishonored the oath of office by enacting unconstitutional legislation. It had to be democrats and republicans because no one else is in elected office in all those years. History does not support electing another democrat or republican.

The truth, the reason We, the People, vote is to elect representative to honor the oath of office. The oath says to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. The Constitution is the Law that tells office holders what they can do and cannot do while in that elected office and acting on the people's behalf.

Another truth, anyone what-so-ever elected to public office is required by Law to swear, or affirm that oath before they are seated in that elected office. That means a third party candidate too and so far no third party candidate has dishonored the oath. If I have not written the truth then rebuttal is welcome.

"Bob Dole. Good f***ing show, guys. A grouchy old fart who refers to himself in the third person. Yeah, he had a real chance, didn't he?"

Bob Dole didn't run a good campaign, period.
But he is a genuinely good man, with a tremendous sense of humor and a history of sacrifice for this country that probably none on this board can match. I'd appreciate it very much if he wasn't trashed here.

As for the closed-loop "vote for the person who represents all of your interests" argument: the only person I agree with 100%
is me. Maybe I'll follow the advice many of you are giving and write in my name on the ballot in November. Boy, will I show 'em then!

Monkeyleg, Dole has a terrible record in public office, he helped enact a great deal of unconstitutional legislation and therefore dishonored his oath of office.

"all of your interests argument"

That statement is misleading because in this Republic the elected are nor required to rule it, Republic, by the "interest or will" of the people if their interest or will is anything other than the oath of office.

Ruling by the "will" of the people is also called "mob" rule and therein lies the difference between a democracy and a republic. We have a constitutional Republic, thank God, if we can keep it.

Monkeyleg,

Allan is a one note musician. He only knows one note, so he keeps playing it over and over again, thinking all the while that he is playing a symphony, but in reality he is probably playing a sym-PHONY.

Vote for Browne, Gore needs all the help he can get!!!

They hardly ever get read.

Send handwritten letters instead!!!

nralife, isn't the Constitution and the oath of office the truth in this Republic? I am ready and willing to discuss either of those subjects as the reasons why we vote. Political parties are a poison to this Republic and Liberty. Did you know there is no political party mentioned in the Constitution?

What I want my elected to do is proper and no different than any other American should want from the elected, to honor their oath of office.
